🦟 🦟 Mosquito season is in full swing!! 🦟 🦟

📍Fun Fact about mosquitos:

Only female mosquitos bite! They need your blood to help develop their eggs (up to 300 eggs at a time)
Male mosquitos do not bite. They feed on nectar and help with pollination!

📍Tips to help control mosquitos in your yard:

✔️ Dump standing water- buckets, flower pots, old tires, bird baths or anything that holds water creates a perfect breeding ground within just a few days

✔️ Keep grass and bushes trimmed- mosquitos love to rest in shady, overgrown areas

✔️ Clean your gutters regularly- clogged gutters trap water and create the perfect breeding habitat

✔️ change pet water and bird baths often- fresh water= fewer larvae

🐝 Carpenter Bee Season Is Here! 🐝

As temperatures warm up, carpenter bees start becoming active around homes and businesses. These bees are easy to recognize because they hover around wooden structures like decks, porches, fences, and eaves.

How Carpenter Bees Work:
Carpenter bees don’t live in hives like honey bees. Instead, they drill perfectly round holes into wood to create tunnels where they lay their eggs. Over time, these tunnels can expand and cause damage to decks, siding, fences, and other wooden areas around your home.

You may notice:
• Round holes in wood about the size of a dime
• Sawdust (called frass) underneath the holes
• Bees hovering around eaves, porches, or wooden structures

What You Can Do To Help Prevent Them:
✔ Paint or seal exposed wood surfaces
✔ Keep decks and wooden structures treated
✔ Check for new holes early in the season
✔ Call a professional before the tunnels spread
