Good morning everyone!

Just wanted to update on a couple things!

Starting this week- BUSY season will be in FULL effect. Please keep in mind you may be asked to be a bit more flexible when scheduling your cleanings with me! As everyone here knows, on top of everyday jobs, I also have appointments and such that have to get squeezed in as well as family/health emergencies that may arise as well!

If you are scheduled and you need to cancel/reschedule- please do so in the allotted time frame to avoid a cancellation fee, (see pinned posted about cancellations/rescheduling)

CANCELLATION FEES WILL BE ENFORCED!

Weekly Cleaning Tasks Include:

Floors: Vacuuming carpets and mopping hard floors.
Bathrooms: Scrubbing toilets, showers, tubs, and sinks.
Kitchen: Wiping countertops, appliance exteriors, and sink cleaning.
General: Dusting all surfaces (furniture, light fixtures, blinds), changing linens, and emptying trash.

Monthly Cleaning Tasks include:
Deep Kitchen/Bath: Cleaning inside the oven, refrigerator, and microwave, plus scrubbing tile grout.
Detailed Dusting/Wiping: Wiping baseboards, door frames, light switches, and door handles.
Windows & Furniture: Washing windows, blinds, and cleaning under or behind large furniture.

Common Differences in Service

Standard Clean (Weekly): Focuses on surface-level maintenance.

Deep Clean (Monthly/Initial): Focuses on buildup and grime.

Just a Friendly Friday piece of advice: please don’t abuse your housekeeping services. If you pay for a maintenance clean, don’t expect a deep clean.
My first visit to the house, I’m very clear with what a maintenance clean is and what comes with it. I’m pretty good about adding a request once in awhile, but when it becomes a routine to request different things (that are a deep clean) I will have to decline or charge accordingly. I charge differently for maintenance v deep.
Please keep this in mind when you are scheduling with me! If you want a deep clean please let that be know right away!

I understand that charging my clients a cancellation fee (only when they cancel) isn’t ideal, but I gave everyone a heads up, and this is my job. Theres no sick time or vacation time as a business owner, this is my income. When I don’t work- I make NOTHING.

That being said- I do not charge a fee is there is an emergency, as it’s completely out of your control. I do not charge for having no power, as it is out of everyone’s control. I do not charge for sickness, as It is out of your control.

I do charge for you taking a vacation and waiting until the week before to let me know you won’t be needing me for weeks/ the month. As that is unfair to not let me know ahead of time, because I could have filled the spot for my income.

If cancellations continue to be a problem, and no fee is being paid, I will unfortunately have to move on, and fill the slot with another client.

House cleaner VS Housekeeper VS Maid
They are not the same thing. 😅

🧽 House Cleaner: Hired for deep & routine cleans (kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting). Scheduled weekly/biweekly/monthly. Task-based, not daily upkeep. Add on services for daily tasks are typically offered but they focus more on things you dont get to do on a daily bases. Typically independent or work for a company.

🏠 Housekeeper: More like a home manager, ongoing home help, laundry, dishes, organizing, daily maintenance, and some run errands for the family and restock supplies. Usually comes daily or multiple times a week. Usually employed directly by the homeowner.

👗 Maid: Outdated umbrella term that’s often misused today. Historically used for live-in household staff.

NOW YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE 😅
