(Sorry for the long video and caption, but this is incredibly important information you may not understand about your car, and I do not blame you; you do not detail for a living.)
I do not usually post educational videos, but this car is too good an example to pass up. Its top layer of clear coat is faded and scratched beyond belief. You do not want to attempt removing all the scratches on your car because you will deplete your clear coat, causing it to peel and whiten on both old and new cars. This video is the difference between a normal one-step polish and bare clear coat that has just been decontaminated. I will show you a video of it after we are all done with the bay doors open so you can see how it looks without any special lighting. Please get your car simply polished to remove the dead surface if it has been a few years, but do not ask detailers to remove every scratch; if you drive on Pennsylvania roads, I guarantee they will just come right back, and this time you will have much less clear coat to protect your paint, and I assure you it will be absolutely detrimental and expensive.
(PS almost all newer cars only have clearcoats the size of a post-it note or hair strand!!!!)
