We have been buying our trash cans from Otto Environmental Systems. They were until this year possibly the largest producer of residential trash cans in the world. The price has doubled since the war with Iran started which caused oil prices to skyrocket. These cans are made from polyethylene which is a petrochemical product. To make matters even worse than the price going up, this war has caused Otto to go bankrupt and so far we haven't found a source for new cans. Unless we can find another supplier we will ultimately be forced to raise the price for additional cans.
I just want our customers to be aware of what is happening. It is more than just the cost of diesel going up ($6.20 a gallon is an all time high) the disruption in the supply chain affects many more aspects of our economy and in this case bankrupted the largest supplier in the world. This wasn't on the news because it's trash cans but it affects all of us.
If I can come up with $20,000 (minimum order plus shipping) I can buy cans from China. Not gonna happen. We're just a mom and pop business. When you call us you're calling my cell phone not some auto attendant. We'll keep trying.
