Do you see spiders in your house? These critters have been inviting themselves in a lot of houses lately. You can keep them out with a few tips!
1. Clean like a crime scene - Spiders look for good hiding spaces where insects would be. That includes under dirt and debris. Keeping your window seals vacuumed and clean will discourage spiders from moving in.
2. Keep all of your dry food sealed in containers - This will keep other insects from eating your snacks and keep spiders from making snacks out of them!
3. Get rid of clutter - Spiders love nothing more than stacks of newspaper and magazines. We all have stacks of recipes we love to keep around, avoid storing them where bugs can get to them. try storing them in storage bins with lids or take a picture and save them in the cloud so they won't ever get lost.
4. Seal up cracks and crevices - Spiders love a nice place to hid, especially if it's one where they can't be seen most of the time. Use caulk to cover up cracks that lead into your house.
5. Check your screens - Old, bent, or torn screens are a welcome mat for spiders. Getting these replaced will be one of the most effective ways to keep spiders out.
6. Keep outdoor lights off - When you turn on a light outside you get to see what insects are around, and so do spiders! Turning these lights off when you are not outside will keep insects from gathering at the light and spiders from preying on them.
7. Keep up on yard work - Keeping a tidy yard will help keep spiders where they belong, outside. Keeping all vegetation 6' from your house will discourage them from moving in.
