Orlando was good to us. β€οΈ
Our time there was filled with great memories, exciting basketball π & a little bit of that special Orlando charm.
We traveled to Orlando for the NXTPro Puma Basketball Nationals. Orlando and its beautiful convention center welcome thousands of athletes and families throughout the year for basketball, volleyball, cheerleading and countless other events.
As the week went on, we noticed something that made us a little sad.
When we first arrived, everything was beautiful. ππβοΈ
But by the end of the week, the hotel, surrounding businesses, restaurants and sidewalks had become covered with litter.
We imagine this is something Orlando faces every day. Millions of people visit each year for sporting events, Disney vacations, conventions and cruises. Too often, visitors leave behind more than memories, they leave behind their trash. ποΈ π₯Ί
We had already planned to clean beaches during our vacation but before leaving Orlando, we knew we wanted to give back to the city that had given our family such a wonderful week.
So on our last evening, several of our official Confidently Clean Coastal Keeper volunteers & a few new friends from Ohio, jumped into action.
Together, we collected more than 750 pieces of litter around our hotel and nearby businesses.
The next morning, as we drove away, it felt good knowing that the families arriving that day would get to experience the same clean and welcoming environment that greeted us when we first arrived.
The workers we met were incredibly grateful for the extra help. Their appreciation reminded us that even small acts of service matter.
Will we make it back to Orlando someday?
We hope so. π
Whether we return or not, we know we left a small piece of ourselves there by making a positive impact.
Because our mission isnβt just about cleaning beachesβ¦
Itβs about serving communities wherever we go and leaving every place better than we found it. ππ
