Here are some reasons to not allow a dealership to sell you ceramic coating!!!!

1. You’re usually overpaying.
Dealers often bundle ceramic coatings into financing or charge $1,000–$3,000+ for products that cost much less when installed by a dedicated detail shop. A large portion of the price is dealership markup rather than the quality of the coating itself.
2. The paint is rarely corrected beforehand.
Ceramic coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Many dealerships skip or rush the paint correction process. If your vehicle has swirl marks, light scratches, or factory imperfections, they’ll be sealed under the coating for years.
3. The person applying it may not be a ceramic coating specialist.
At a dealership, the coating is often applied by whoever is available in the detail department. Dedicated ceramic coating installers typically receive manufacturer training and spend their time applying coatings every day.
4. The warranties can be misleading.
Many dealer ceramic coating warranties come with fine print. They may require annual inspections, exclude common issues, or only cover product failure—not paint damage or appearance. Some are more of a sales tool than a true warranty.

A good ceramic coating should include:

* Thorough wash and decontamination.
* Paint correction before application.
* Professional-grade coating products.
* Clear warranty terms.
* Proper curing and aftercare instructions.

The biggest difference isn’t where you buy the coating—it’s who is installing it and how much time they’re willing to spend preparing your vehicle. A properly prepared coating from a professional detailer will almost always outperform a rushed dealership application.

Had this brand new 2026 Kia K5 in for some System X Max G+ Ceramic 7-9 year coating! We did have to do some paint correction on it due to some flaws but it is ready now! The best time to coat them is when they are new!!! Let us know if we can do yours!!! If you’re needing a detail appointment we are currently full for this week but have openings next week!!!

Had to go on site for J&R Collision Centers to the T-town shop to ceramic coat a bumper that was replaced! Always remember if your in an accident and you have your vehicle ceramic coated the insurance company will pay to have it re-applied!!!
