During my time as owner of Fordham's many of you had the pleasurer of meeting my children. They spent many hours there and you were all so kind to them. It is with a very sad heart that I share this post.
Today our family is hurting. Hurting from losing a son, a brother and a best friend. Colby left us just before 6am this morning. He is our light in the dark. He is the most loving, gentle, giving and beautiful soul we have ever known. He was always ready with a hug or a one liner (and a not so subtle Rick Roll).
Anyone that knows Colby knows about the power of his hugs, including all of his teams of doctors. He had them all in group hugs pandemic be damned. We will all miss his laugh, his snuggles, love for dad jokes (preferably bad ones) and how good it felt just to be near him.
In a world sometimes overwhelmed by ugliness I will never understand how someone so pure and beautiful could be taken away from us so soon.
But Colby will live on though our memories and will be in our hearts forever. And we as a family will continue live our best lives possible because he wouldn't want any other way. We will miss you sweet boy but know that you are with us every step of the way and we will see you again.
If you have any pictures of Colby could you please please post them in the comments.
Also, in lieu of flowers or cards we ask that donations in honor of Colby be made to either of the charities below, one that supports Pediatric Cancer patients and one that empowers Brain Cancer Research through tissue donation. Both started in honor of or by pediatric patients.
Colby actually decided to be a tissue donor in the hopes he can help save future patients.
