I just wanted to take a minute to say sadly we will no longer be able to serve any families at Estates of Serenity. After a lengthy conversation with the “owner” Deb Cain, we won’t be able to meet the standards they expect a 12 year old to provide. It was told to us we can’t use our pressure washer, even though we only use it as a water hose to wash the soap off. Then told us he couldn’t use the Dawn dish soap and baking soda we use on the UNFINISHED areas of a marker. We use ammonia free glass cleaner and a microfiber towel on the polished areas, and were told all of that was abrasive. They told use we had to use what they use, Wet and Forget. I asked if she could provide a small amount to finish the headstones today and she said at cost, again Cainan is 12.
I was then told all families had to have written permission through the cemetery for us to clean their family headstones. I asked that if we had permission from all families Cainan has served that OWN the headstones, why would we need that? And was told she was the owner, again.
After that she wanted us to sign some contract in the office to clean, and again I said he’s a 12 year old just trying to make cash, I’m not doing that. At the end she told us that IOOF has a cleaning service, so anyone with loved ones out there, I apologize. However, instead of paying $5 to a kid who started this business 3 years ago because he saw a need in the community, you will have to pay IOOF. I know this is my choice to not have him out there, as she said 5 times; but I’m not making anyone come in to sign a piece of paper for permission to clean property that they already own.
