Think Your Crystal-Clear Pool Is Perfect? Think Again!

Your pool can look sparkling blue and still have a hidden problem: phosphates.

Phosphates are nutrients that enter your pool from sources like leaves, grass clippings, pollen, dirt, fertilizers, rainwater, and even some pool chemicals. While phosphates aren't harmful to people, they are the primary food source for algae.

Here's the catch: You can't see phosphates. Your water may look crystal clear, but high phosphate levels can make it much easier for algae to grow. That means your chlorine has to work harder, you're likely to use more chemicals, and algae can suddenly appear even when your pool looked perfect the day before.

⚠️ Signs you may have high phosphates:
• Constant algae problems
• Chlorine doesn't seem to last
• Higher-than-normal chemical usage
• Water that looks clear but becomes cloudy or green quickly

✅ The solution is simple:
At AQUACLEANS LLC, we professionally test your pool's phosphate levels and, when needed, treat the water with a phosphate remover that binds to phosphates so your filtration system can remove them. We also help identify where the phosphates are coming from so you can reduce future buildup.

Don't wait until your pool turns green. Protect your investment with professional water testing and maintenance.

📞 Contact AQUACLEANS LLC today to schedule your pool service or phosphate test!

A healthy pool is more than just clear water—it's properly balanced water.

Why Your DE Filter System Is the Heart of Your Pool
Many pool owners don't realize that one of the most important pieces of equipment on their pool is the DE (Diatomaceous Earth) filter system. You can have perfect water chemistry, but if your filter isn't working properly, your pool can quickly turn cloudy or even green.
A DE filter is designed to trap extremely small particles that other filters may miss. The DE grids inside the filter are coated with DE powder, which acts as the filtering media. When the grids become clogged, damaged, or neglected, water circulation and filtration suffer dramatically.
What Happens When a DE Filter Is Neglected?
✅ Poor water circulation
✅ Reduced filtration
✅ Algae spores remain in the water
✅ Chemicals become less effective
✅ Increased strain on the pool pump
✅ Cloudy water that can quickly turn green
When a filter isn't cleaned and maintained regularly, algae, debris, and contaminants continue circulating through the pool. Even if chlorine is added, dead algae and fine particles may not be removed efficiently. This creates the perfect environment for algae growth, leading to a green pool.
Common Problems We See
Torn or cracked DE grids
Dirty filters packed with debris
Filters not backwashed when needed
DE powder not added after backwashing
Internal manifold damage causing poor filtration
A damaged DE filter can allow dirt and algae to bypass the grids completely and return directly to the pool.
The Bottom Line
Your DE filter system is the heart of your pool's circulation and cleaning process. Regular maintenance, inspections, and proper cleaning help keep water crystal clear, extend equipment life, reduce chemical usage, and prevent costly green pool cleanups.
A neglected DE filter can turn a beautiful blue pool into a green swamp faster than most homeowners realize.

AquaCleans LLC Tip: If your pool keeps turning green despite adding chlorine, don't just blame the chemicals—have your DE filter system inspected. The problem may be hiding inside the filter.

"Maintaining a swimming pool is easy."
One of the biggest myths homeowners believe.
People see a clear blue pool and assume it takes a few minutes a week and a little chlorine. The reality is very different.
A properly maintained pool requires:
🔹 Regular water testing and chemical balancing
🔹 Monitoring pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and sanitizer levels
🔹 Cleaning skimmers, pumps, and filters
🔹 Brushing walls and vacuuming debris
🔹 Managing algae growth before it becomes a costly problem
🔹 Adjusting treatment based on weather, temperature, rainfall, and pool usage
🔹 Diagnosing equipment issues before they turn into expensive repairs
A pool can look crystal clear and still have water chemistry problems that damage equipment, stain surfaces, or create unsafe swimming conditions.
The reason a pool looks effortless is usually because someone is putting in consistent work behind the scenes.
A well-maintained pool isn't easy—it’s the result of knowledge, routine, and attention to detail.
The myth: Pool maintenance is simple.
The reality: A great pool is earned, not automatic.
