A lot of folks don't have a good understanding of how NYs bottle bill is broken and Why we need to call out the Hypocrisy of these NY lawmakers who claim to care about the environment, NY businesses (small or large) or fair pay.

17 YEARS people!! Thats how long they have been sucking like vampires from this system which USED TO BE a closed, self-funded and supported loop. (Prior to 2009's ammendment, 100% of the unredeemed fund stayed Within the system, funding needed infrastructure and fair wages to those who do all the work.

Hopefully this helps to not only educate the public on the real root problems with the current bottle bill, but also to encourage other affected stakeholders as well as NY lawmakers that there IS a path that could support all stakeholders involved, bring more revenue to the state and help to keep our environment clean at a lesser cost.

Another center closing! If you value the service redemption centers provide for recycling your containers and receiving the deposit you are entitled to, then please get on your state reps! Demand fair pay for redemption centers!

🚨 14 Closures. And It’s Getting Worse.

Since 2023, our Senate district has lost 14 redemption centers.

Just recently, we lost two more right near us.
And now?

We now have customers driving from multiple towns away — some traveling 30 to 45 minutes just to return their bottles.

Think about that.

That’s not a functioning system.
That’s a system breaking down in real time.

We’ve reached out to Senator Stec.
Our customers have reached out.
The response?

👉 “He doesn’t really co-sponsor bills.”

Meanwhile, the closures continue.
The pressure grows.

And small businesses like mine are being pushed to the limit trying to carry what’s left. Why? Because the state still has us on a 2009 pay rate.

This isn’t political.

This is about:
•small businesses
•local jobs
•access for our communities
•and a system that is clearly failing

👉 Senator Stec, our district has lost 14 centers—and counting.
