Madrid, the capital city of Spain, is embracing and commemorating its Muslim past with the inauguration of a new museum called the 'Galeria de Colecciones Reales'
The museum is dedicated to showcasing the rich Islamic heritage that once thrived in the region during the historical period of Al-Andalus.
One of the museum's star attractions is the original Umayyad fortified wall.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the significant contributions of Muslims in Spain.
