We didn't start McMichael Waste Services from the boardroom. We started it from the job site.

We were already in the field. Already on sites every day. Already doing the kind of work that requires a service partner who understands what's actually at stake when a job is on the line and every moving part has to be in the right place at the right time.

That is what MWS was built on, firsthand experience. We know what a job site needs because we've worked them. We know what it costs when something simple becomes complicated. We know the difference between a vendor who shows up and a partner who actually gets it.

That's our standard, not because it looks good on a website, but because we've been on the other side of the cone. We built MWS to be the kind of company we would want to work with.

Most of the time, site service companies are called in after the plan is already in place. Someone sends over a scope, they quote it and they show up. That works great until something on the job doesn't go the way it was planned.

We try to have a different kind of conversation with developers and GC's at the start. We want to know everything before we ever mobilize. What's the sequencing? Where are other trades going to be? What does access look like across different phases? Where do our schedules overlap with someone else's?

That's not a sales conversation. It's a planning conversation and it's the one that prevents the phone calls three weeks into the job when everyone is trying to figure out why things aren't going as planned.

A 30-minute walkthrough before the project started could have caught most of the problems I see on active jobs. Not because someone did something wrong, but because no one asked the right questions early enough. The scope was clear, but the coordination wasn't.

Art in the alleyways! 🎨🗑️

We are still blown away by the talent poured into these dumpsters by the incredible art students from Southside and Boaz High School. Every single design was Amazing & now they're heading out into the community where everyone can enjoy them.

Proof that even a dumpster can be beautiful when you put the right people on the job. 💚

Last month, we set up for the Lineman's Rodeo in Huntsville, AL. We set up 42 portable toilets, 20 hand wash stations, 10 sanitizing stations, and an 8-stall restroom trailer.

Most people who show up to an event like that never think about the logistics behind it, and that's kind of the point. When it's done right, nobody notices. They just have a good time.

A lot of people know us from the construction side of our industry, but events are a big part of what we do too. Festivals, rodeos, horse races, equestrian events, weddings, corporate events, catering setups, and storm damage.

The coordination is different than a job site, but the standard is the same. Everything shows up on time, clean, and staged where it needs to be so the people running the event aren't dealing with us when they should be focused on running the event.

The Lineman's Rodeo was a great one to be part of. These are the men and women who keep the power on, and getting to support an event that celebrates what they do felt like the right place for us to be.
