A lineman told us once that the best part of camp wasn't the hot supper, it was clean, dry socks. After three days of working on soaked feet, the laundry trailer was the thing. It's a small detail.

But after 20 years of this work, we've learned the small details ARE the job. That's why every GDL base camp runs laundry every single day.

An army runs on its stomach and so does a line crew. 🍳

Catering is one of the biggest parts of what we do: hot breakfasts before daylight, packed lunches for the field, and a real dinner waiting when the trucks roll back in.

Events, job sites, deployments... if you've got a crowd to feed, we've got a kitchen that travels.

October is the busiest festival month of the year. Harvest festivals, fall fairs, church festivals, trunk-or-treats every single weekend, somewhere, the gates open.

Here's the truth about what your guests will remember: not the banner, not the playlist. They'll remember whether the food line moved and whether the restrooms were clean. That's it. That's the review. We handle both sides of it, climate-controlled restroom trailers specced to your crowd and catering that keeps the line moving. We set up before the gates open and service everything while the event runs, so you never think about it once.

If you've got an October or November date on the books, call before the calendar fills:

It's Fire Prevention Week (Oct 4–10).

Two minutes tonight: check your smoke alarms, talk through a family escape plan, pick a meeting spot outside.

And to the firefighters spending this week teaching kids in school gyms all over America...Thank You. We've fed and housed fire crews on deployments, and they're some of the finest people we've ever met.

We're watching Tropical Storm Isaias closely and praying for everyone in its path. It's expected to be a hurricane by Thursday and come ashore on the northern Gulf Coast Friday.

Our team is on standby with base camps, temporary housing, restrooms, showers, and the logistics behind them. After 20 years in disaster response, we know the days after a storm matter as much as the storm itself.

If your agency, county, or organization needs support, call us. We're ready to deploy.

This is NOT a porta-potty.

When your base camp has better restrooms than a 5-star hotel...We build dignity into disaster response. Our climate-controlled restroom trailers are stocked, cleaned 3x daily and built for 200+ person camps. No blue boxes. No compromise. Because crews who feel human, work human. Hundreds of restroom trailers ready to roll from Florida to Texas. Who's ready?

September's almost done and so far El Niño has kept the Atlantic quieter than usual.

We're grateful for that and we're not letting our guard down because hurricane season runs through November and storms don't make appointments.

Our equipment stays staged, our people stay ready, and our phone stays on. That's the promise, quiet season or not.

When a water main breaks, a city has hours not days to take care of the people. That's when they call us.

We've been setting restroom and shower trailers for cities during water outages these last few weeks, so the residents have somewhere clean to go while crews make repairs.

City and utility workers: save our number before you need it.

Fall officially just arrived and festival season came with it. 🍂

Craft fairs, harvest festivals, downtown events...this is the stretch where our trailers barely sit still.

If your event's coming up in October or November and you haven't locked in facilities yet, now's the time.

When a major storm takes down the grid, thousands of mutual assistance line workers roll in to restore power, but they're arriving in the one place that can't feed or house them: no hotels, no restaurants, no fuel.

GDL Vice President Chad McMichael explains how a storm restoration base camp keeps those crews fed, rested, and back on the poles fast. Read the full breakdown: https://globaldisasterlogistics.com/utility-storm-restoration-base-camp/
