My sister posted this photo of her father on her FB page. It instantly reminded me of how devoted my father was to his customers, and why his customers rarely shopped around for other pricing.
Take a look at how my father is dressed at my sisters wedding reception at our churches hall. This was the mid 80s. Long before cell phones.
Though my father took over running the trucks in the early 70s my grandmother still answered the house/business phone that was in their house.
One of our frequent failed system customers called, looking for emergency services. Their place was backed up into the house.
My grandmother called the church and asked them to put my father on the phone. When he heard the situation, he didn’t hesitate. Dressed in a tuxedo he left his daughters wedding reception and got the septic truck and went out and done the job. 
Customer felt bad when he was told the situation, but my dad assured him he was grateful for the customers business. And told him this won’t take long. And it didn’t soon he was back at the wedding reception. 
THAT is why our customers rarely shop for prices. They know they will be taken care of. our customers were never a number to my father. They are very much like friends. 
I already miss my father, but I will be forever grateful for the timeless work ethic he instilled in us.
Rest in peace dad. I got it from here.
