The HVAC system is designed for the blower inside the air handler/furnace/heat pump to push against some maximum pressure difference. If the filter gets too dirty or the supply ducts are closed or  too restrictive, the blower pushes against a higher pressure.

Snake in the air ducts?
We found this one inside the duct system. I spoke with the owner and she freaked out when she saw it, and so did we. She told me one time she saw this little thing coming out of the vent. She put some gloves and tried to pull out thinking it was the tail of a dead mouse, but she couldn’t because it moved away.
So yesterday we discover why she couldn’t get it, because it was a live snake living in there. She was very happy that we were able to remove the snake without hurting it and we let free into the woods far from the house. Also there was a dead mouse in there. Dinner? LOL
