A little reminder when hiring someone to clean your home 🏡❤️
Please, please do your research before allowing someone into your home.
Cleaning isn’t just cleaning. Your home is your personal space. It’s where you feel comfortable, where your children grow up, where memories are made, and sometimes where generations of your family have lived. You’re trusting someone with a space that means a lot to you.
I’ve seen more and more people jump into cleaning and immediately start booking homes, and while everyone has to start somewhere, professional cleaning takes more than a vacuum, a spray bottle, and a Walmart bag of supplies. 😂
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been called into a home after someone else cleaned because the homeowner wasn’t happy with the results.
I’ve heard things like:
“She showed up with a Walmart bag and a few cleaning products.”
“She only had a vacuum and a spray bottle.”
“I had to have someone else come back and fix things.”
And this isn’t meant to bash anyone. It’s simply a reminder to do your research. Ask questions. Look at reviews. Look at their work. Find out how long they’ve been cleaning, what’s included, what products they use, and what kind of experience they have.
And please remember: you get what you pay for.
It can be tempting to book the person offering a $30 clean or a $50 “deep clean” because it sounds like a great deal. But there’s a reason an experienced cleaner may charge more.
You’re paying for their time.
You’re paying for their experience.
You’re paying for their supplies and equipment.
You’re paying for their attention to detail.
And most importantly, you’re paying for the service and results.
Respectfully… a lot of us will drop $250+ getting our vehicles professionally detailed because we want them taken care of. 🚗✨
Your home deserves that same love. 🏡❤️
I’m not saying you have to hire the most expensive cleaner. I’m saying hire someone you trust, someone who takes pride in their work, and someone who understands that they’re not just cleaning a house—they’re caring for someone’s home.
Do your research. Ask questions. And don’t be afraid to invest in quality service. ❤️✨
A cleaner should know, or at least be actively learning, things like:
🧼 What products are safe for different surfaces
🧼 What should NEVER be mixed
🧼 How to properly clean bathrooms, kitchens, floors, etc.
🧼 How to handle buildup, soap scum, hard water, grease, and grime
🧼 What equipment actually makes sense for the job
🧼 How to protect a client’s belongings and surfaces
🧼 What a deep clean actually entails
🧼 How long quality work realistically takes
Because one wrong product on the wrong surface can damage somebody’s home, and suddenly that $50 “clean” has cost the homeowner hundreds or thousands in repairs
