Bees in an Owl House
James got to relive his childhood days of acting the “monkey” for this removal; bees had taken up residence in a homeowners’s owl house. They enjoyed observing them but had grown concerned with the size of them and their proximity to neighbors, so they asked us to remove them.
Our ladder didn’t quite reach them, so he decided to shimmy on up and take care of it. I was the ground crew taking pictures and praying he wouldn’t fall.
10/10 do NOT recommend doing this at home.
Thankfully, these gals were super docile!
We plan to temporally enclose the whole owl house with some wooden hive ware for winter so they have extra protection. If they make it thru till spring, we will set them up in a hive where they can grow. They seem to be out of space 😂 !
