Hello new and original beautiful people!! Its been roughly a year since I have posted to the Shade N Shine page. As much as I wanted to continue detailing, it just hasn't been something I can juggle with all the other life duties and a new full time job. Every once in a while I can get a detail squeezed in. I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel yet, not entirely anyways.

For those of you who follow this page for Santa's Toy Shop Anderson County, we have a page and a new website to register for Christmas assistance. Make sure you give the new page a like so you can get updates for Santa's toy shop!

We are in need of sponsors. I will be out and a bout next week going door to door.

Hello beautiful people!! Its been quite busy for the Modlin family the last 5 months. We have settled in to the new life quite nicely.

Now that all of our donor posts are finished I have some big news to share with Garnett.

Shade N Shine will start the new year closed.

Due to multiple unforseen circumstances I will not be renewing my lease in the building on Maple.
The goal is to detail from a home based business. Once I obtain the proper permits I will be accepting appointments for gift certificates only.

My main goal during this transition is to ensure everyone gets to use their gift certificates before I move forward.

Shade N Shine has loved the time spent on Maple serving this beautiful community.

This news came to me a week before Christmas so I have been trying to process through the holidays. I just needed to make it through Christmas before I could make any moves forward. I will be spending the next couple days emptying the building and taking down the banner.

Thank you all for supporting me through 2.5 years of business. This is not the end of the road just a detour!

2024 Santa's Toy Shop Anderson County was beyond blessed to have the support of the Hope Anthem Church community. The youth group came and spent an entire afternoon helping prepare the shop for the big day. They wrapped gifts, built family boxes, decorated the shop, and filled stockings like professionals.

The Garnett campus pastor and I are kindered Christmas souls!! I have never met someone who loves Christmas as much as I do until Stan Milliken and I crossed paths. It's the most wonderful time of the year!!

I recently joined Hope Anthem and our family has thrived in ways we didn't know were possible and my children have a love for God I didn't know existed. I am so eager to see what our lives will look like a year from now. The love and hospitality you feel the moment you walk to the door is unmatched.

Hope Anthem is church ANYONE can come to. If you are looking to find peace in your life just as I was, then join us for a service. You won't be disappointed.

Thank you Hope Anthem for supporting Santa's Toy Shop Anderson County. Thank you for teaching my family the importance of accepting God into our lives.

Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival is a Modlin family tradition! We are 100% biased because their president is my father in law!! We think it's the best event in town! The Grand Prix brings spectators from all over the country. Our community absolutely thrives the week of Grand Prix. Shade N Shine has the privilege of helping ready the beautiful cars for the car show too!! This year Santa's Toy Shop Anderson County was able to distribute shirts and sweaters to teens in our community who's families needed a little extra help for Christmas!

Each October the historic Lake Garnett “ghost track” is resurrected in America’s heartland. Vintage sports cars and high-performance automobiles from every era descend upon the serene town of Garnett, KS for the Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival. This multi-day celebration features a vintage race car exhibition, autocross, car show, rides for charity, a driving tour & cruise, plus track sessions for street cars and drivers of every experience level. Admission and parking are free for spectators.
Lake Garnett Grand Prix was a thriving race course back in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s that brought in such drivers as Carroll Shelby, Ken Miles, Jack Hinkle, Don Yenko, Harry Heurer, and Dick Thompson just to name a few. Over 70,000 people drove in from all over to attend the event. YOU can now drive the same course they did, simply by registering on their website!

Horseshoe Springs Gardens - Herb, Produce and Flower Farm pours unto Santa's Toy Shop Anderson County every single year with out fail! Jenelle Klehammer spent her spare time this holiday season helping me tackle any task I needed to check off. She also sat along side another face painter for 4 hours bringing smiles to so many children's faces.

Jenelle and her husband Chris run a homestead west of town. There Chris grows the most wonderful plants. In my gardening years I bought souly from Horse shoe springs. In 2022 I had 7 foot tall tomato plants held up by any thing and everything I had handy. They set up at the square fair every year selling beautiful succulent arrangements alongside their seedlings. You can find just about every vegetable you can think of, and if you don't see what you want all you have to do is ask!

Thank you Horse shoe springs for pouring your heart into our toys shop! We love you and appreciate you!

Mo and T DJ Service is quite the duo! They have been a staple at so many magical events. You can't have a shindig with out the jams right?!
If your looking for a Dj give them a shout.

We were fortunate enough to utilize their speaker system for Santa's Toy Shop Anderson County and thank goodness too. I don't think I could have yelled loud enough even if I tried.

7TH Street Grocery LLC is a necessity for this beautiful town. I personally love shopping at 7th Street Grocery. The prices are unbeatable, the baked goods are unmatched, and the folks running the store are the most kind and generous humans you'll ever meet.

It never fails to surprise me when I find folks that have never heard of 7th street Grocery. With the economy in its current state we are all looking for a way to make the dollar stretch and this is going to be the BEST place to do so.

Crystal Metcalfe-Real Estate Agent With United Real Estate has poured into Santa's Toy Shop Anderson County since the moment she heard about it. This year Shelby Eaks and Crystal opened their doors for our patrons to use the office for a warming station.

I might be a little biased but I'm pretty sure she's the best realtor around!!! She kind of turned our dreams into a reality...and that's kind of her specialty!

Crystal has closed on over 100 house in 2024. My house being one of them!
