Job Title: Assistant Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily operations of the shop and ensure that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.
• Coordinate the work of mechanics, technicians, and other shop staff to ensure that all work is completed efficiently and effectively.
• Monitor the progress of work and make adjustments to schedules and assignments as necessary.
• Ensure that all tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and used, and that the shop is kept clean and organized.
• Manage inventory levels and order supplies and materials as needed.
• Ensure that all work meets safety standards and regulations, and that all staff follow proper safety procedures.
• Train and mentor new staff members and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for existing staff.
• Provide regular performance feedback to staff members.
• Participate in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to improve shop operations and efficiency.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a related field preferred.
• Several years of experience in a similar role, with demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team.
• Strong technical knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, customers, and suppliers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to collaborate effectively with others.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with ability to identify and address issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
