Myth: I have a large home so i will need a big well.
Fact: Sizing a well takes many factors into consideration. Everything from geological features in your area, static water levels, to anticipated use of the well. A typical scenario in a home is to say flush a toilet and turn on a sink. This would typically require approx 3 gallons per minute. Regardless of WELL SIZE, most homes have a well producing 5-10 gallons per minute. A 2" well in good formations, and high static water level is capable of producing over 75 gallons per minute.
So do you NEED a large diameter well for a large home? Obviously no. Talk to us about your water supply needs and let us recommend the best options for your area and water usage.

Putting more air in your pressure tank does NOT fix a low water pressure problem in your home. Your pressure tank actually JUST STORES water so each time you open a faucet the pump doesnt have to immediately turn on.

SAND POINT WELL: What does this really mean?
ANY well that has a SCREEN on the end to filter water from an unconsolidated ( sand ) formation. Simply put, it lets water into the well, and keeps the sand out.
These can be found on ANY type/size of well. Yes even submersible 6" wells.

WHEN SHOULD I TEST MY WELL WATER?
Your water should be tested every year for Coliform Bacteria. If you are pregnant or have infants under 6 months, you should also check for Nitrates. Water should also be tested if you notice any change in taste, odor or appearance.

DONT put anything down the drain that you dont eat... One exception is toilet paper..... :)
Keep in mind, anything that you put down the drain doesnt just magically disappear. It has to be processed in your septic tank and further treatment occurs in the drainfield. Keep your system healthy. Especially avoid FATS OILS GREASES.

It takes 40 gallons of water to make ONE EGG!!
How do they get all that water in one little EGG?
Once you compute the water it takes to grow the required feed for a hen, the water she drinks, and the number of eggs she lays... 40 gallons!!

Question we are asked often: Can I hook my camper up to a septic system?
Yes you can. It is best to have a camper drop installed by a licensed professional. The pipes that you see above ground on a typical system are NOT for dumping into. This will likely cause the failure of your septic system.
