Safety over everything!

Trash pickup has been delayed all across Middle Tennessee after last week’s winter weather event.

Due to continued inclement weather and subdivision/driveway conditions we have canceled routes for January 22, 2024. We will be operating the rest of the week on our holiday schedule. Tuesday through Saturday. Please understand we will only travel the neighborhoods and driverways that are safe for OUR trucks to navigate. Just because you can get out doesn’t mean our big trucks can. They are not made to operate in snow and ice like our personal vehicles.

Backdoor customers: We strongly encourage you to move cans to the street if your driveway is remotely covered with snow and ice.

We understand that there will be two weeks worth of trash in most cases. Reminder, any excess trash outside of cans MUST be bagged and boxes flat. This will allow our drivers to work as efficiently as possible. If you have more than two weeks worth of your normal trash allowance please contact our office for further instruction.

Remember safety is always first and we will eventually get caught up. This is a very inconvenient situation for everyone, we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Due to the winter weather last week, the local dumps are dealing with a surplus of household trash. They are unable to transport the trash quick enough to keep up with the demand of local sanitation companies, as well as their own trucks. As a result, the City of Franklin and the Williamson County landfill made the decision to close mid afternoon on February 23, 2021. We continued to run routes until all of our trucks were completely loaded.

For the remainder of the week, the City will only accept ONE truckload per company each day. We won’t know until the morning whether or not the County will accept any trucks the rest of the week.

We are looking into other landfill options, but as you can imagine, all of Middle Tennessee was impacted by the winter weather and are experiencing the same surplus in household trash.

We expect this to cause service delays throughout this week. We will work Saturday if needed, assuming we are able to empty our trucks. We apologize for the inconvenience and we ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this.

Routes will resume with our normal schedule on Monday, February 22nd using our discretion. Although most main roads are clear, many secondary roads and neighborhood streets that were not treated or plowed are still covered with snow. We have to prioritize the safety of our drivers, equipment, and customers’ property. If our drivers have any doubt on whether they will be able to safely make it down a street, they will air on the side of caution. Regrettably, this will result in some areas that will not be able to receive service until the road conditions improve.

BACKDOOR CUSTOMERS: As we drove through our service areas today, we saw very few driveways that would be passable in our trucks. If majority of your driveway is covered with snow, we will not be able to pull in your driveway. We ask that you bring your trash to the curb and we will collect there, as long as we are able to safely make it down your street.

Please understand that even though you may be able to travel your street or driveway, our trucks carry a significant amount of weight and are more likely to get stuck. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we keep everyone safe.

All routes for this week have been canceled. With another round of winter weather expected and the poor condition of most neighborhood and secondary streets, we have to prioritize the safety of our employees, customers, and community. Our landfill and recycle partners are also expected to be closed the remainder of the week.

Routes will resume on Monday, February 22nd with our normal pickup schedule. We expect customers to have double the typical quantity of household trash, no excess trash fee will be charged.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Collect household waste and recycling on assigned route and any other task assigned by management, while providing ELITE customer service and exhibiting ELITE safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid TN driver license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move greater than 25 pounds.
- Monday through Friday and overtime is required. Saturdays following a paid holiday are required.
