A Flood Watch will be in effect from 1 p.m. tomorrow Tuesday, Jan.9, until 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Moderate to heavy rain is likely in the area Tuesday afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals of two to three inches is expected with localized amounts up to four inches possible. Please pay attention to spaces with basements that may become flooded. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.

Turn around, Don’t Drown: Just 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock over an adult. It takes just 12 inches of rushing water to carry away most cars and just 2 feet of rushing water can carry away SUVs and trucks. It is NEVER safe to drive or walk into floodwaters.
