This homeowner was in the process of selling her home, but the sale was contingent on getting a new roof.

She had already met with two other roofing companies and received estimates to pay for the roof out of pocket. When I came out to take a look, I found storm damage that had been overlooked.

After documenting the damage, I helped her navigate the insurance claim process and made sure she understood each step along the way. The result was a full roof replacement valued at nearly $50,000 that was covered by insurance, leaving her responsible for only her deductible instead of a massive out of pocket expense.

Every situation is different, but this is why it pays to have someone take a thorough look before writing a check. Sometimes the options available to a homeowner aren’t immediately obvious.

I’m grateful I was able to help make the process a little less stressful and keep her home sale moving forward.

My beautiful wife definitely wins the camera contest in our house, so she’s taking over the drawing for the two Starbucks gift cards. 😄

One of the best parts of this job is helping people avoid paying for things twice.

Today I helped a homeowner get her roof, gutters, and gutter guards approved for replacement. We were also able to get all of her siding approved due to hail damage and discontinued siding matching issues.

She had already put a deposit down with another contractor for the siding, so being able to help get the siding approved through insurance means she should be able to recover that money instead of paying completely out of pocket.

That’s the kind of stuff that matters to me. Doing right by people whether it benefits me directly or not.

And to top it off, she sent me on the road with some fresh strawberries from her garden.

One thing I’ve learned in roofing is people care more about honesty and communication than a sales pitch. And honestly, they should.

Not every roof needs replaced. Sometimes it’s a small repair. Sometimes it’s just peace of mind after a storm. Either way, I try to treat people the way I’d want my own family treated.

A lot of roof damage can’t be seen from the ground, and many homeowners don’t realize there’s an issue until much later. A quick inspection can at least give you answers and help you stay ahead of bigger problems.

If you ever want a straightforward opinion on your roof, I’m always happy to help.

One thing I’ve always believed in is treating everyone with the same respect. From the president of a company to the crews out in the heat getting the work done every single day.

These guys work hard, sacrifice time with their families, and take pride in what they do. Feeding the crew today was just a small way to show appreciation for the people who truly keep this industry moving.

Respect goes a long way. Appreciate your people
