Have a stubborn rug that edges lift up causing one to trip? Use ice cubes, line them along the edge of your rug (lay towels flat under the rug if on a wooden floor). The slow melting of the ice cubes helps relax the fibers of the rug slowly allowing them flatten out. You can use starch once dry to help hold the edges down longer. Place ice cubes in furniture indentations in your carpet to raise the carpet up same process, some fluffing may be required depending on the carpet itself.

How to clear a slow drain. When you notice your drain is starting to clog or water draining slowly add a 1/2 cup of baking soda to the drain and follow with 1/2 cup of vinegar. Wait about five minutes and flush with hot water. This should clear some of the stuck on debris and help the flow of water. Have a stinky drain? Add 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of lemon juice wait for five minutes and flush with hot water. Don't add lemon, lime, or orange peels to the drain or garbage disposal as these will weaken the blades as well as get stuck. Stuck peels create a stinky mess after awhile and can clog drains.

Cleaning tip:
For tough stuck on grim in the microwave place a wet dish rag in the microwave for 15 seconds. Be careful not to grab the dish rag right away or use tongs to avoid burning your hands. This add's moisture to the surface and helps remove stuck on grim.
