Don’t forget to spring clean!
The City of Flint is gearing up for Love Your City, a month-long spring cleaning held in May for the entire city. This will be the series of events' 12th year. Flint partners with Keep Genesee County Beautiful and Priority Waste to provide a variety of citywide cleanup resources. In addition to the special citywide waste collection dates provided by Priority Waste listed above, there are also the following special events and resources:
Tire Buyback: May 18 - City of Flint residents may drop off tires from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Environmental Rubber Recycling, 6515 N. Dort Highway. Payment will be made by tire or per load - $1 each up to a maximum of 25 tires OR $25 per load for 25 tires or more. Only auto and light truck tires accepted. Tire disposal is available for non-commercial residents of the City of Flint. No commercial vehicles allowed.
Cleanup Supplies for Public Spaces - Keep Genesee County Beautiful will provide free
yard waste bags, garbage bags and cotton work gloves to individuals and groups
conducting exterior cleanup activities in public areas (parks, schools, traffic medians,
libraries, right-of-ways, etc). Call Keep Genesee County Beautiful at 810-767-9696 at least 10 days in advance of needing supplies.
Neighborhood Cleanups - Contact the City of Flint Blight Elimination Division at
810-237-2090 at least 2 weeks in advance if a dumpster is needed. Please note
Neighborhood Cleanup dumpsters are provided on limited bases. The City of Flint Blight Department will supply one Dumpster per Neighborhood Association.
