Mess is a topic that comes up in my sessions and conversations all the time!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Mess can be particularly triggering for moms because it's often not their mess and it's neverending!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here are ways to manage your reaction to mess:⁣⁣
⁣⁣
〰️ Limit the number of toys out. I store my boys toys and rotate toys in and out so that the playroom doesn't become one big heap. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
〰️ If it doesn't spark joy (😂) get rid of it! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
〰️ Be selective about what you allow in your home⁣⁣
⁣⁣
〰️ Focus on open ended toys instead of "one and done" toys that will clutter the home and rarely get used⁣⁣
⁣⁣
〰️ Take from the clean laundry pile instead of constantly taking new clothes⁣⁣
⁣⁣
〰️ Wash a dirty dish to use rather than grabbing a new dish every time⁣
⁣
〰️ Be gracious and kind with yourself on days when you can't manage the mess⁣
⁣
〰️ Remind yourself that mess doesn't reflect your worth as a mom. ⁣
⁣
〰️ Remind yourself that mess doesn't mean you're failing. ⁣
⁣
〰️ If it's overwhelming and you don't know where to start, pick one small area to organize each day or week. You eat an elephant one small bite at a time.⁣
⁣
〰️ Set a timer for 5, 10 or 15 mins and tidy what you can in that time. Make it a family affair and have the kids take part 😍⁣

How do you manage mess?

I have over 7 years of experience cleaning homes, but never stop learning new and improved ways to sanitize your home. I am a smaller company, so you won’t have unknown persons coming into your home to clean- I always limit the amount of people coming in and I will be there each time. I do offer ECO-friendly/natural cleanings upon request for the families that wish to avoid harsh chemicals and I am always Pet and Kid friendly!

I am a proud Servant’s Heart member of the American House Cleaners Association and have Certifications as a Professional House Cleaner as well as COVID-19 & Cleaning for Infectious Disease Prevention.

A little bit about my services:

Bathrooms:
*Dusted from ceiling to floor, being sure to hit the light fixtures, fans, blinds and baseboards.
*Sanitize all surfaces (using Eco-friendly/natural products upon request)- sinks, toilets, light switches, toilet paper holder, showers/tubs, cabinets and floors
*Scrub inside of toilet and remove hard water rings and mold
*Scrub sink to remove any build-up- mold, soap scrum, water marks, toothpaste, etc
*Scrub inside of tubs/showers to remove any build-up- mold, soap scum, water marks, hair, etc
*Clean around all drains, removing hair when possible and preventing mold from building up and being sure to ALWAYS clean the faucet where mold likes to build up to improve quality of water coming from faucet
*Shine mirrors
*Empty trash cans
*Vacuum and mop floors

Kitchens:
*Dusted from ceiling to floor, being sure to hit all light fixtures, fans, blinds and baseboards
*Sanitize all surfaces (using Eco-friendly/natural products upon request)- counters, sinks, outside of all appliances (stove, fridge, oven), cabinets and floors
*Remove all crumbs and debris from countertops and other surfaces
*Clean inside and outside of microwave
*Clean stove tops
*Scrub sink to remove any build-up- mold, water marks, food debris, etc
* Clean around all drains, removing hair when possible and preventing mold from building up and being sure to ALWAYS clean the faucet where mold likes to build up to improve quality of water coming from faucet
*Empty trash cans
*Vacuum and mop floors

Bedrooms/Living Room/ Etc.
*Dusted from ceiling to floor, being sure to hit all light fixtures, fans, blinds, baseboards, shelving, picture frames, etc.
*Sanitize all high-touch surfaces (using Eco-friendly/natural products upon request)- light switches, remote controls, tables, doorknobs/frames, etc.
*Polish wood surfaces
*Make and tidy beds
*Tidy couches and chairs, vacuuming under cushions as needed
*Shine mirrors
*Empty trash cans
*Vacuum and mop floors, with special attention to getting under all furniture as possible

There’s never a wrong time to get your house cleaned. We have openings now and are certified in COVID-19 and cleaning for infectious disease prevention. There’s no time like the pleasant!

I take cleaning your home very seriously and will never stop learning how to make your home as clean and healthy as possible. House cleaning is soooo much more than picking things up and putting them away to make the house look "tidy." It is scrubbing, sanitizing and knowing which chemicals to use in which situation. It takes knowledge, skill and passion to go above and beyond. During my 7 years as a house cleaner I have never given up on learning new tricks to my trade and it brings me joy to bring all of that experience into your home.

Domesticity does not equal motherhood. ⁣
⁣
I once sat in a class where teenage girls said they needed to learn how to cook, do laundry, and clean if they wanted to one day be good moms.⁣
⁣
I stopped and told them that cooking, doing laundry, and cleaning are part of being an ADULT. Those are not the things that make up motherhood. ⁣
⁣
But I get where they got that conclusion.⁣
⁣
You always hear women say they aren’t good moms when they don’t make homemade lunches, prepare cupcakes for the bake sale, show up to the doctor with kids who have brushed hair, or get the laundry put away in a decent time. ⁣
⁣
“I’m such a bad mom. I sent store-bought valentines to school with my kid.”⁣
⁣
“Mom fail. I didn’t get the laundry done.”⁣
⁣
“I’m a failure as a mom. I don’t make homemade bread/cookies/whatever.”⁣
⁣
NO.⁣
⁣
Your “success” as a mother is not defined by domestic duties. Domestic duties are part of being an adult.⁣
⁣
While your children do need to be changed and fed, that’s not the summation of MOTHERHOOD. Anyone can change and feed children, including dads. You can hire someone to clean your house and feed your kids, and you’ll still be a mom. ⁣
⁣
And if you weren’t a mom, you’d still have to clean your house, cook food, and do laundry. ⁣
⁣
You’re not a bad mom because you didn’t do laundry in time. Let’s stop combining domestic duties with motherhood, because they just aren’t the same. Yes, moms do domestic things. And they raise children. These are two separate things. ⁣
⁣
Your housekeeping is not your motherhood, and you’re giving away power when you combine the two and judge one against the other. ⁣
⁣
You are a good mom because you love your child, and you try to help them learn the things they need to learn. You worry about your kids, you spend time with them, you plan for their future, and so much more.⁣
⁣
You might be terrible at domestic duties (I don’t know) or you might be the best housekeeper in the world. But neither end of the spectrum -- or anything in between -- determines if you’re a good mom or not.⁣
⁣
Housekeeping is NOT motherhood.⁣
