I really liked working on this house. It's a very small house with a unique layout that utilizes every square inch possible. I love the angles and the brightness of the home. Those big windows really let in the natural light. I painted this entire house with Sherwin-Williams duration which is a very high quality paint and we used a bright white to really light up this house. We also installed window trim on every window in the home. We installed drywall on the ceiling of the third level storage area which was a change that was made by the homeowner after the fact and we were obliged to help. We recently completed this project in Dover. This was a first time home buyer and doesn't fit the mold for the type of home someone would purchase through the first time home buyers program. It is a very old house and The difference in building materials from a modern home is undeniable. The age of the home created some barriers in order for him to meet the requirements to purchase it.. We started with a checklist and knocked one thing out at a time. Shortly after we completed this job we got the great news that he is now a new homeowner and passed inspection. We did some exterior painting, interior painting, drywall repairs, removed some old plaster and replaced it with drywall, ceiling tiles, pressure washing, and more. I was recently doing some painting, window trim, and interior door installations in a home in Kitts Hummock and was approached by the homeowner because they had a very big problem on their hands. This is a brand new home and had recently been built but the windows were very poorly installed. A majority of the windows leaked very badly and were causing water damage on the interior of the home. Fortunately we were able to help. The diagnosis was pretty obvious and we were able to completely seal her windows on both the inside and outside. There were very large gaps around the entire exterior of the window and also on the inside. Had they been installed correctly this would not have been an issue. No more water though. I recently completed this job in Middletown. The customer was very concerned about the safety of the stairs and rightfully so. When I came to do the estimate I stepped on the upper level and immediately realized that there were joists that were no longer attached . You could literally step on it and drop down almost an inch. There was literally nothing holding you but the deck boards themselves. I had some tools and some screws with me and even though I couldn't do the job that day I went ahead and made it safe for her and her family until I could get back. When I arrived for the repairs I ripped all of the treads out and replaced the joists with new 2x6's, hangers, and replaced the old treads with new trex decking. She told me that one of her daughter's friends that was a high school student that was taking classes for construction installed the handrails. Probably not a place I would have an inexperienced person installing something lol. Also the home owner was going to have surgery on her leg within the next week so we found time and got up there and got the job done for her considering the circumstances. I also replaced the right side handrail because I literally took one screw out and the whole handrail fell on me. Definitely a red flag. Thankfully it wasn't the type of homeowner that said it was my fault. The whole thing was captured on the ring camera anyways lol. Thankfully it got replaced before somebody got hurt because there's no doubt in my mind it was only a matter of time. I recently completed this project in magnolia. The home owner lives here by herself and was very concerned about her home being secure. The door was definitely a cause for concern. She couldn't open and close it and whoever installed it was definitely not concerned about it being installed right. She wanted it gone and that's exactly what we gave her. There was once a deck that was against that section of the house which is an addition. Once the deck was removed the support for that wall was gone because the wall was built on top of the deck. The things I encounter on the job lol. Unsafe is an understatement. The 4x4s that were holding it up have definitely seen better days. So we ripped it all out and built a new wall that's structurally sound and waterproof at the base due to it making contact with the concrete. We wrapped the bottom of the wall with a waterproof wrap, used treated lumber for the bottom plate of the wall, and sealed it up like fort Knox. We will be installing siding in the near future. I recently caulked this entire bathroom for a customer in Smyrna. The existing caulk was very old and cracking peeling in a lot of areas. She was also concerned with ants being able to get through some of those areas. In the process of me caulking and sealing any gaps in the house that critters could potentially get through I smelled natural gas. She immediately contacted the gas company and they came out and detected a very small gas leak but because it was located after a certain point they were not able to fix it but did inform her that it was a very small leak and fortunately it was caught before it turned into a very bad problem. We may have saved that woman's life. When things like this happen it really puts things into perspective for you. Just fortunate that we were able to help out and keep her safe because she is an incredible human being. The third picture is her home after I installed the vinyl handrails and painted it. I like this one a lot because I was given a picture and was able to just do my thing. I was able to complete this job with just 5 gallons of paint and some good old fashioned hard work. It urned out great and the customer was blown away. Recently completed this job in Dover. After washing the home the customer inquired about installing new vinyl handrails and we were much obliged. We got a late start as you could see in the after pictures. The existing handrails were very dated and also wood which is very susceptible to rot and deterioration if not properly taken care of. We removed all of the old handrails and installed the new ones within a few hours. The posts are anchored into the concrete and will last for a very very long time. The was a house wash I recently completed in Dover. There was heavy organic growth on the left side of the home. You're always going to get heavier growth on the side or sides of the house that receives the least amount of sunlight. I used my 20-in surface cleaner to clean the driveway, walkway, and patio area.
