As a professional cleaner, pet hair isn't necessarily a deal breaker—but it does make a big difference when it comes to pricing and the amount of work involved.

Many clients don't realize that homes with heavy shedding require much more than a standard cleaning. Pet hair gets into carpets, furniture, corners, baseboards, vents, and just about every surface imaginable. Removing it takes extra time, extra equipment, and a lot more effort.

I love pets, but I have to be honest—after cleaning a home with a large amount of pet hair, I often struggle with coughing and breathing issues for the rest of the day, even while wearing a mask.

For those of you in the cleaning industry: How do you handle homes with excessive pet hair? Do you charge extra for pet hair removal, or include it in your standard pricing?
