It's been 25 years since the 9/11 terror attacks on America. On Friday, the nation will remember those lost on that fateful day and take a moment of silence in their memory.
On this quarter-century anniversary of the attacks, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will add a seventh moment of silence to honor those who have died of illnesses related to their time at or near the World Trade Center site.

🇺🇸 🇺🇸 The Day America Stood Still — September 11, 2001

I remember September 11, 2001, as a day when the world suddenly felt different.

Like millions of Americans, I watched the television trying to understand what I was seeing. At first, there was confusion. Then the second plane hit the South Tower, and confusion turned into disbelief and fear. America was under attack.

We watched smoke pour from the Twin Towers. We heard that the Pentagon had been hit. Then came the news about Flight 93 going down in Pennsylvania. And eventually, we watched those towers fall.

For a little while, everything else in life seemed unimportant.

But something else happened that day that I will never forget.

We saw courage.

Firefighters climbed those stairs while thousands were trying to get out. Police officers, paramedics, military personnel, and ordinary citizens ran toward danger because somebody needed help. Passengers aboard Flight 93 realized what was happening and fought back.

Many of those heroes never made it home.

I remember the sadness, the anger, and even the fear. But I also remember what America felt like afterward. American flags seemed to be everywhere. Strangers helped strangers. People prayed. Communities came together. Political differences didn’t seem nearly as important.

For that moment, we weren’t divided into groups.

We were Americans.

Twenty-five years later, children are growing up who weren’t alive that morning. That’s why we have a responsibility to tell them what happened—not to frighten them, but so they understand the price others paid and the courage ordinary people can show when everything goes wrong.

I was proud to be an American then, and I am proud to be one today.

May we always remember the innocent lives taken, the families who never got their loved ones back, and the heroes who answered the call.

September 11, 2001. Never forget. 🇺🇸

God has blessed you, rest in His hands. You raised a good following family. Thank you for bringing many others to Christ our Lord and savior.

Very sad to report that Dolly Parton, one of the greatest Country singers, and far beyond, EVER, has just passed away. This is a true loss for millions of people. There has never been anyone like her, and never will. In her honor, I am lowering the American flag throughout the United States for a one week period beginning tonight at 6:00PM. Dolly Parton, one of the most beloved voices in American music, has died at the age of 80.

For decades, the world knew her for songs like “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” and “I Will Always Love You.” But beyond the rhinestones, awards, and fame, Dolly often spoke openly about something deeper: her dependence on God.

In a 1980 interview, she said:

“I just depend on a lot of prayer and meditation. I believe that without God I am nobody, but that with God, I can do anything.”

Those words reveal something important. No matter how successful, talented, wealthy, or loved a person becomes, every human life ultimately depends upon God.

Dolly leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of music, generosity, and compassion. Her Imagination Library alone placed millions of books into the hands of children, and her kindness touched people far beyond the stage.

But today, more than remembering what she accomplished, let us remember to pray.

Please offer a prayer for the repose of Dolly Parton’s soul, asking God in His infinite mercy to forgive her sins, purify her, and welcome her into the joy of eternal life.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.

May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. 🙏
