Behind Every Great Team Are Leaders Who Give Their All!
In honor of National Boss’s Day, we’re shining the spotlight on two women who deserve a whole lot of love, recognition, and maybe a vacation or two!
Danielle | The Dreamer, The Doer & The Heart Behind Above & Beyond
Eight years ago, Above & Beyond started with a woman on bed rest who apparently didn’t understand the meaning of taking it easy.
Armed with determination, a vision, and eventually a baby Everly strapped to her chest while cleaning houses, Danielle set out to build something of her own. Eight years later, some of those very first clients are still part of our Above & Beyond family. That says something about the relationships she’s built along the way.
But Danielle’s vision has never been just about cleaning houses or growing a company.
It’s about people.
She knows what it’s like to work hard and not always feel appreciated. She made herself a promise to become the kind of boss she wished she’d had. Someone who sees potential before perfection, believes people deserve second chances, and understands that sometimes all someone needs is an opportunity and somebody willing to believe in them.
She pours her heart into creating that foundation, empowering her employees, and reminding them they’re capable of more than they realize.
Her heart doesn’t stop at her employees, either. Giving back to the community, helping families through difficult times, creating opportunities, and finding ways to make a difference have always been important to her. Whether it’s through her businesses, community involvement, or simply stepping up when someone needs a hand, Danielle believes success means a whole lot more when you can use it to help others.
And then there’s that entrepreneurial brain of hers! 😂
If you know Danielle, you know her mind goes about a million miles a minute. She’s constantly dreaming up new programs, better ways to support her team, new services, ways to help more people, and of course, another business idea or five before lunch!
She doesn’t just see what a business is today. She sees what it could become, who it could help, and the opportunities it could create. Her biggest challenge isn’t coming up with ideas. It’s having enough hours in the day and enough capital to bring every single vision to life.
We’re pretty convinced that if Danielle had the funding to match everything going on in that entrepreneurial mind of hers, she’d be absolutely unstoppable!
And knowing her, she’d still be thinking of the next thing before the first one was finished!
Kayla | The Right Hand, The Voice of Reason & The Glue That Holds It Together
Twenty-two years of friendship, countless memories, and now the adventure of running a business together!
Kayla has been there since the beginning. She’s seen the dream, the struggles, the growing pains, and everything in between. And through it all, she’s remained one of the most consistent people by Danielle’s side.
While her title might say office management, team leadership, and sales, anyone who knows what happens behind the scenes knows her role goes far beyond that.
She’s the one juggling schedules, managing the day-to-day chaos, helping clients find the right services, keeping the team moving, and finding solutions when the day decides it has other plans. And let’s be real, in this industry, that happens just about every day!
Kayla has a way of being both a leader and someone you can talk to. She listens, she cares, and she understands that there’s a person behind every employee, not just a name on a schedule. She’s often the bridge between the team and the business, helping navigate personalities, challenges, and those moments when everyone seems to need something at once.
She’s the sounding board when decisions get tough, the steady hand when things get overwhelming, and the person who helps turn Danielle’s big ideas into the everyday reality of running a company.
And after 22 years of friendship, you can bet these two know exactly how to push each other’s buttons, call each other out, laugh through the chaos, and still have each other’s backs at the end of the day!
Her loyalty, patience, dedication, and the countless responsibilities she carries deserve far more recognition than she probably gives herself credit for.
Kayla isn’t just helping run a business. She’s helping build the culture, relationships, and team that keep it going.
Two Women. One Vision. A Whole Lot of Personalities!
Let’s be real. Managing a team full of strong-willed, outspoken, independent women takes a special kind of patience, humor, and backbone! 😂 And these two have certainly had their fair share of learning experiences along the way.
They don’t always have all the answers. They don’t always get everything right. But they care, they keep learning, and they keep showing up.
Because being a boss isn’t about being perfect. It’s about taking responsibility, making the hard decisions, having the uncomfortable conversations, celebrating the little victories, and genuinely wanting the people around you to succeed.
And sometimes, it’s about putting out 15 fires before they’ve even had a chance to brush their teeth in the morning!
Today, we celebrate more than their titles. We celebrate their hearts, their hard work, their sacrifices, and the countless things they do that nobody ever sees.
Danielle and Kayla, thank you for believing in this team, fighting for its future, and putting so much of yourselves into making Above & Beyond what it is today.
You are appreciated, respected, and loved more than you know.
