One of our maintenance customers wood expansion joints were breaking down and had termites in them. We dug out all of the old material and put in new fiber expansion joint material. After that was installed we topped it with sika polyurethane expansion joint material. We had fun with this one.

This sweet lady emailed us on a Sunday in complete despair. She was at her wits end! She had recently had a new liner installed and said it was losing a ton of water. I was just messing with some stuff around the house and asked Heather if she minded if I went to look at it. Usually, Sunday is our family day but we weren't doing much this particular Sunday. I went out to see what was going on with it. When I arrived to the property I noticed just the steps, inset ladder steps, & main drain were the only things cut in. I noticed that the seal strip gaskets were on the outside of the liner as well. I checked the shallow end steps first and then proceeded to the ladder steps. The main issue was there. The left side seal strip was dog tailed but the lower right corner did not seal properly. It sucked in my dye from inches away. There was nothing I could do to save the liner. It had to be replaced. I cut the returns in and just pulled from the main drain so the pool wasn't sitting stagnant until her new liner came in. After removing the liner a few of the main drain screws were also not snug. They just spun when I was removing the seal ring. It was leaking from there as well. Here is the journey of that job. Also, I made some calls and got her 50% off of her liner due to the fact it was only a month or so old. It was installer error even though I wasn't the original installer.

This is one of our maintenance customers. We noticed the pool was losing a little water at first. It just kept getting worse over a few weeks. I looked the whole pool over and decided to plug the skimmer off on both sides just to see. The water loss stopped. The issue was in the pipes underground. This area is known for ground water issues as the ground stays pretty saturated. They also have a pond in their backyard. The pavers were sinking all around the skimmer going towards the equipment. So....we started digging to see what was going on. We got down to the 90° fitting was coming out of the skimmer and that's when I knew we had a huge issue. The pipe was being pulled down in the middle for some reason. I figured it just wasn't backfilled properly or just movement. Nope....the more I dug back the worse it got. The original builders put the pipe under rebar in multiple locations. I'm not really sure how they even got 2" sch40 to flex the way it did. My customers were set up to fail. The pipe at the 90° wasn't cracked or broken. It literally just pulled out of the fitting due to the weight and tension put on the run of PVC pipe. We got it all fixed up for them. We reinforced the new pipe with backfill rock on heavily tamped earth. We also removed all the pavers around the area and got the deck back to normal.

One of our regular maintenance clients recently noticed a split in the union on their Hayward salt cell. Fortunately, we always encourage our clients to contact us as soon as they notice anything unusual with their pool.

In this case, the client spotted a wet area beneath the cell yesterday afternoon while letting her dog out and reached out to us right away. Thanks to her quick action, we were able to address and fix the issue first thing this morning.

If you ever notice something off with your pool, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We're here to help—anytime!

One of our maintenance customers stuff is still under warranty. One of their micro led lights stopped working. When I went to clean it they showed me what the other company had done. I guess when you get warranty work they just break the conduit and leave it mangled. I would be ashamed if I left anything close this catastrophic nightmare. No worries, we got it fixed for them.

PS - I know rhe rock doesn't match the previous.....that's what my client bought, haha.

We have been exceptionally busy at MCA Pool Services, LLC. This pool restoration project was a substantial undertaking. A client contacted us following a severe storm that dropped 12-13 inches of rainfall in the Daphne/Spanish Fort areas, causing significant damage to his pool. An easement with a storm drain behind his house, which had not been properly maintained, flooded into his yard, resulting in considerable chaos. The pool overflowed, causing severe damage to the pool bottom, breaking the main drain pipe, and tearing the liner. I have to give a shout out to Bowie over at 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 for taking this on with us! We killed it dude! This is a 20'x40' beast that is 9' deep. It's a large residential pool, haha.

One of our maintenance customers liner ripped by the steps due to old age. The deep end skimmer was broke due to over tightening the screws. Upon removing the liner the main drain had multiple hairline cracks around the screw holes. This was a fight due to all the bad weather conditions we have had but we got it done. I actually did this one solo. I don't recommend it! Haha.

Customer called wanting to get the pool cleaned up because spring break was coming. It was just supposed to be a 1 time clean. Upon arrival it was a bit more than that. The liner was pulling out of the track in multiple locations, the flow wasn't very good so we checked the filters after the treatment, noticed a hole in the liner on the wall, & obviously got the pool back on track.

One of our clients neighbors needed a liner replacement. They also wanted to convert from a traditional "tab" pool to salt. We changed the filter sand, laterals, and a new key assembly. The metal coping had seen better days so we freshened it up with a sanding and new coat of paint. The previous owners put a rock water feature in that ultimately destroyed the coping under it. We got the old patch material off, cleaned it, & rebuilt it. The pool light wasn't working so we fixed the broken junction box, wiring, new light bulb, & gasket. The shape of the pool was really odd. This was the first liner I've done like this as there is no true shallow end. As soon as you get past the steps it immediately starts to slope into the deep end hopper. This was a fun one! Stay tuned for the water feature we are building for them where the rock was!

I was cleaning this pool and stepped off the ledge in the corner where the Spa meets the pool. When I stepped down the paver gave and I was shin deep beneath the decking. I decided to check for other areas and this is what I found. We took all the pavers out and filled the voids with crushed paver base. We tamped it down super good. Water intrusion at it finest!

If you have pavers or natural rock around your pool, do you yourself a favor and seal it!!! It will help with mildew/mold build up, keep the polymer sand in check, and keep the material color looking new!
