Please be aware of a temporary trail closure beginning Tuesday, August 4th as the Evergreen Metro District continues work on the Evergreen Dam improvement project.

To complete utility work, the soft-surface trail behind the Water Plant and near the garden area will be closed while crews trench across the trail to install electrical conduit. The closure is expected to last Tuesday and, if needed, Wednesday, 8/4 and 8/5.

The stairs leading from the dam along Highway 74 will remain closed throughout the duration of the dam project. Please plan ahead if you're visiting the area and follow the posted detour route shown on the attached map. Thank you for your patience as these important infrastructure improvements continue.

Good Morning, Evergreen Metro District Residents!
First, we want to extend a big THANK YOU to everyone in the community for your patience and cooperation during the emergency events caused by the June 24th storm.

Update: All water and sewer operations have been restored, and your water is safe to drink.

You may notice that your water has an unusual smell or taste. This is due to high turbidity (cloudiness) in Evergreen Lake caused by sediment washed in during the storm. While this can affect the odor and taste of the water, it does not affect its safety.

Unfortunately, we cannot remove the odor or taste caused by the additional organic material in the lake at this time. However, you can improve the taste and smell by:
• Using a carbon water filter.
• Filling a wide-mouth pitcher with water and letting it sit uncovered in the refrigerator for 12–24 hours to allow the odor to dissipate.
• Adding a few drops of lemon or lime juice, or a slice of cucumber, to help neutralize the taste and smell.

Thank you again for your understanding and support as we worked through this emergency. We appreciate our Evergreen community!

🚨 UPDATE: Kittredge Water System Transitioning Back to Normal Operations 🚨

Thank you to the Kittredge community for your conservation efforts and cooperation during this challenging time.

The water system is transitioning back to normal operations, and residents may resume normal water usage beginning at 9:00 p.m. tonight.

Bottled water is available for the Kittredge community at Kittredge Park on Welch Ave thanks to Niagara Bottling and Jefferson County Emergency Management.

Please limit bottled water pickup to one case per household so we can help support as many residents as possible.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and commitment to conserving water while our crews worked to maintain service for the community.

🚨 UPDATE: BOIL WATER ORDER LIFTED – EL PINAL AREA 🚨

Evergreen Metropolitan District has received confirmation from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) that the drinking water is safe, and the Boil Water Order for the El Pinal area has been lifted.

Residents affected by the boil water order on Thursday and Friday may now resume normal water use, including drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and other household uses.

We appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation while our crews responded to the water main break, restored service, and completed the required water quality testing.

Thank you to our customers for your support and cooperation during this event.

For questions, please contact Evergreen Metro District at 303-674-4112.

🚨 BOIL WATER ORDER – EL PINAL AREA 🚨
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.
Bring all water to a rolling boil for one (1) minute, then allow it to cool before using, or use bottled water. Do not boil water for an excessive amount of time — more is not better.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for:
• Drinking
• Making ice
• Brushing teeth
• Washing dishes
• Food preparation
Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be present in the water.
This order is expected to remain in effect for the next 24–48 hours.
On the morning of June 25, 2026, the El Pinal area experienced a significant loss of pressure. Evergreen Metropolitan District (EMD) crews immediately began searching for a water main break. Crews continue working on repairs, and we are hopeful the repair will be completed within the next few hours.

Stagecoach Blvd.
Carriage Loop Dr.
Bronco Rd.
Palomino Dr.
Appaloosa Dr.
