I clean, repair, paint.

When your tenant moves out, there's always tedious repairs that need to be addressed. Broken faceplates, broken globes, busted k***s, messed up hinges, loose toilet seats, burned out bulbs, loose trim, and more. Many of those items I already have handy, leftovers from tear outs that I salvage to keep the costs down on future projects, as well as saving me trips to the hardware.

Did you know many housekeeping companies don't allow their cleaners to do anything that requires more than a step stool? Or anything that is considered home repairs?

A client recently interviewed companies and discovered more than half:
-don't do dumpster duties
-wouldn't clean above the kitchen cabinets
-wouldn't clean her chandelier in the entry due to its height
-nor would they powerwash the basement floor.

When I'm doing demo work, I make sure I leave the space the cleanest slate necessary for the next person. If I pull carpet, it's my job to pull everything that goes with it: the pad, the tack, the staples. When pulling drywall, I get the studs as clean of nails as I can. Being meticulous matters. It's no fun kneeling down on a subfloor and there's a nail still sticking up. Don't like the clean up after demo but love doing demo? I'll come in behind you to denail, sweep, etc.

This house was a clean out only. I wanted to do a deep clean and paint as well. The more I dug the house out, the more damage to the house was discovered. The house was sold as-is, with the land being the value. An investor bought it for a song and managed to make this house a livable space again.

Due to the weather this week, one of my projects got postponed by the client, so I have an opening. Instead of taking a day off and relaxing, I'd love to fill a 40 yard dumpster for someone.

I don't often work on occupied homes. Usually when I do, it's because of special circumstances, when it's not a typical cleaning. Hoarding, severe neglect, and medical impediments are a few reasons for needing a professional who can handle the tough jobs, giving the client a well deserved reset.

Here we have a corduroy chaise lounge sleeper covered in years of cat fur. Simply vacuuming didn't pull all of the fur. I had to use a rubber shower squeegee to rake the fur, then I vacuumed. During another visited I might shampoo the upholstery. I have suggested purchasing a cover that can be removed and washed occasionally. They aren't cheap, but the time it takes to keep this clean, spending $150 on a cover becomes a value real fast.

Worked on a commercial suite. This tenant has a growing business and decided to expand into the next suite when it was vacated. A pass thru was cut and the crews got dust and debris everywhere in both units. I worked on the dust in the new unit while the tenant's cleaning staff worked on their occupied section. As we got things cleaned, they were decorating. Everyone was hustling but the teamwork and efficiency of this staff was a sight! Everyone was getting things done, making it happen, no arguments or tears. It was so refreshing to experience a business atmosphere where people just got along. This was a stressful situation for them but you wouldn't know it. They were needing things done fast in time for their event that opened today in the new section, which was why my help was needed. I had the tools necessary to get up high, while keeping my feet on the ground. While the interior crews need to come back for touch ups, framing and some adjustments, the debris has been mostly conquered. We only had a day and a half to get it done.

Sometimes no matter how careful the contractors are, the dust will cling to something. They can cover desks, cover floors, dust and debris will find a way. I can come in after hours and clean up after renovations.
