Hi everyone. This is my yearly "time to check your sprinklers" PSA. With the unusually warm temperatures and lack of precipitation, lawns may start to need water sooner than most years. I'm not saying it's time to water because it's not, but it might not be too far away. We are adding more humates than we ever have to the lawns to help them retain more water. Thanks everybody. If we haven't been in touch yet, we will be soon.

Hi Everyone. It's that time of year when the lawns have been fertilized and treated with a w**d pre emergent but haven't been sprayed with a broadleaf w**d killer. It's just now getting warm enough for broadleaf killer to work properly and it's not abnormal to be getting a few w**ds creeping in. We will be killing them on your upcoming treatments. Thanks everyone, your business is highly appreciated.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you all know that we've hit a slight bump in the road (Really hard). I was hit by a truck that drifted and overcorrected into my lane leaving our workforce temporarily cut in half. Rebecca is out getting treatments done as quickly as she can, but I'm a bit banged up so we're probably going to need a week or two more than usual to get everybody's yard winterized with the winter/fall fertilizer. The purpose of this treatment is to keep your lawn healthy through the winter and help it get off to a healthy start in the Spring. So, we'll be getting them all done in October and November. Thanks for your patience, I just didn't want anyone thinking we forgot about them. Chris Busico.

Just a heads up, it's time to make sure sprinklers are ready to go. We are going to be getting into temperatures that will require our treatments to be watered into the soil. It's still pretty cool now, but with the mix of wind and sunshine coming next week lawns are going to get dry without a little help.

Thank you all, we really appreciate your business. (Chris)

We get asked a lot "when should I start watering?", I'm starting tonight. My lawn is starting to show a couple of areas that are stressed, which is good for training roots to reach deeper, but you don't want too much stress either. Some lawns may not need water yet, but some definitely do. I'll start with 10 min. on each section a couple of times per week and then adjust accordingly.

The majority of our customers lawns have yet to be sprayed with broadleaf w**d killer due to the unusually cold temps. We will be spraying the w**d killer with all of the treatments moving forward. Hang tight, we're going to get them killed.

Lastly, some lawns are starting to seed themselves. Make sure to not bag when mowing this time of year. We rarely ever recommend bagging, but definitely not in the spring. When your lawn seeds itself it gets heavier and more lush which also prevents w**ds from sneaking in.

Just a little public service announcement: Now would be a really good time to make sure your sprinklers are working. It's possible that temperatures next week could be warm enough that fertilizer treatments would need to be watered into the soil.

Also, I just wanted to thank everyone for their patience. All that snow and rain and wind really creates delays for us and everyone has been great to work with. We still have customers waiting for their first treatments. We will be getting them done within the next few days.

Just a little update. We are about two weeks behind getting everybody's late summer w**d control and fertilizer treatments done. This is due to the record high temperatures we are experiencing. It's too hot to spray fertilizer without risking the health of your lawn. We will be coming around as soon as possible. Thanks for being patient.
(In the meantime make sure your lawn is getting enough water to keep from getting heat stressed, we won't be able to treat stressed lawns.)

Happy Easter everyone! I just have a few things that I want to share/update. First, I'd like to thank all of our customers for sticking with us and all of our new customers for giving us a chance. Thank you so much for keeping your business local, it means the world to us. If you haven't seen us yet we will be coming around or getting in touch very soon. Second, we are having record high temperatures and it is not too early to get your sprinklers going. Remember, if lawns get heat stressed we are not able to treat them. Thanks again, Chris.

We have started spraying our second round of lawn treatments. This application needs to dry and then be watered off of the top within 24hrs. Also, please remember that we will not be able to treat your lawn if it is too stressed. I haven't seen any lawns yet that would be too stressed to spray, but I have treated a couple that if they don't get any water this week they are going to be headed in the wrong direction. We could hit 70 degrees tomorrow. Your lawn shouldn't need a lot of water, but it will need a little bit.

Thanks, I hope everyone is doing well.

Hello loyal Busy Bees customers! Just an update and a tip or two. We have completed our first round of spraying. Over the last month or so we have been applying fertilizer and w**d preemergent. This w**d control is designed to keep the w**ds you have from spreading, however it will not kill any existing w**ds. During our second treatment is when temperatures become warm enough to start killing broad leaf w**ds. We are hoping to start next week.

Believe it or not, I already have an area in my yard that is not getting quite enough water. It is in a high traffic area that the kids walk on quite a bit.(Has a greyish dry look to it) There are going to be some storms coming through this week, but it is not too early to start thinking about getting sprinklers tested and ready to go. You all know how Utah weather is. Every year we go from the 40's to the 70's in the blink of an eye. When that happens your lawn is going to love the heat and start to thrive as long as it gets the proper water.

Thanks everybody, hope you are all well.

I've been going around a bit this week checking on yellow lawns for a few concerned customers. They were all heat stressed due to not being watered enough. Though it seems like there has been a lot of rain, it hasn't been enough to maintain healthy grass. It is important to not get behind because we are unable to treat overly stressed lawns. Thanks everyone, have a good Fathers Day weekend.

Today I ran into a few lawns that are being mowed too short. A minimum of at least 3 inches tall after being cut is recommended. Temperatures are going to go from cool to hot before you know it. The longer you keep your grass blades, the deeper your roots will grow. Now is a good time to get your grass standing tall to prepare for the heat. Since the temperatures are rising, we are now starting to be able to kill broad-leaf w**ds. Due to the continued bad weather we haven't been able to service many lawns this week and we are about two weeks behind our regular pace. Thanks everybody for your patience, it is appreciated, and we are doing all we can. Chris
