Just an average Saturday night. Poor guy got chopped from his nest during a palm tree pruning and then sat on the ground all day until he was noticed. Thankfully the property owners brought him over when they found him and we were able to patch em up. He’s not out of the woods yet but he’s holding food in, he’s on antibiotics, and he’s full of energy wanting to eat so that’s the best we can ask for. Hopefully he’ll keep pulling through. Donations always help with rescues. Links are in our bio on how to become more involved.

In fall we get so many calls from people worried about bugs. If you have bugs in your house, then you need to seal your house. Check your screens, your door seals, fill up the holes where people have drilled for Internet… and change the lighting so you’re not attracting the whole neighborhood of bugs in - since a majority of the night time ones are attracted to lights.

Spraying poison around your house will only leave dead things at your doorstep and leads to more ecological issues as it acts as a free and easy food source for bigger bugs and rodents right at your doorstep.

Planting native plant to increase biodiversity and changing the insect draw by simply lowering lighting, helps save the butterflies, the biodiversity, our health… and it’s just prettier.

A lot of native plants are free. They’re being disguised as weeds by your landscaping companies and HOA because they want your money.

Save the butterflies - plant native pollinated plants - and fire your monthly pest control company!
I promise you’ll love me for it. ❤️🦉❤️

Volunteers from East Valley Wildlife are still rescuing animals from freestone park. The efforts the center has been putting out are all volunteer and could use the help of the public.

Volunteers returned to Freestone Park Thursday to search for more turtles as Gilbert continues construction on the park’s lakes. The town says it is working with local wildlife groups to help relocate animals during the project.

Pro-tip: Bring boxes or wagons to carry your plant hauls, and double-check payment methods before you head out!

In this population-based case-control study, the greatest risk of PD was found within 1 to 3 miles of a golf course and risk generally decreased with distance. Associations with the largest effect sizes were in water service areas with a golf course and in vulnerable ground water regions.

If you’re missing your sulcata let us know. This one is in a safe space for now and we hope to find the owners in the next few days.

These tortoise friends tend to go missing for days before their owners notice because they can burrow under fences and like to wander.

You’ll need to provide proof of location details and pics to prove she’s yours. If you’re looking to adopt… Please check out our web links to local rescues that have adoption options.

Thanks friends

“We’re here to help them.”

Local rescuers say they have taken in more than 30 animals as Gilbert continues renovations at its Freestone Park. The effort initially focused on finding new homes for domestic ducks and helping relocate other wildlife as the lake was drained, but one rescuer says that changed after sick ducks began showing up.
