Insect of the week- Carpenter Bees 🐝

Worried about carpenter bees? 🐝 These solitary bees look like bumblebees but have shiny hiney, as well, hairless abodmens. They bore into wood (not eating it!) to build nests, which can damage decks, siding, and other wooden structures over time.

While males are harmless, females can sting if provoked. Plus, their presence can attract woodpeckers, leading to even more damage! Keep an eye out for perfectly round holes in your wood. They are quite territorial and can be intimating.
