Ever wonder where I learned the trade?

Back in 1986, I trained at The New England School of Chimney Sweeping in Massachusetts. The school was run by Ken Hinkley, one of the pioneers of modern chimney sweeping. The New York Times called him "one of the pioneers in the field" back in 1979.

The training wasn't just classroom work. We ran real service calls at homes in the surrounding area and were graded on how we did in the field. Then we had to pass written and oral exams.

I graduated at the top of my class in May 1986 and founded Ace Chimney Sweeps that same year. 40 years later, I still bring that same hands-on training to every home we service.
