🧽 Don't underestimate the power of a soot sponge!

These little beauties may not look like much, but they're one of the most effective tools we use after a fire. Before walls and ceilings can be sealed and painted, soot must first be carefully removed from the surface. That's where soot sponges come in. They lift dry soot without smearing it deeper into the material, helping create a clean surface for the next steps in the restoration process.

It's meticulous work and definitely not glamorous, but the impact is huge. Every pass of the sponge brings a home one step closer to looking—and feeling—like itself again.

Sometimes the smallest tools make the biggest difference. We're here if you need us, and we promsie to take good care of you.

💧 Do you know the ideal indoor humidity range to help prevent mold growth?

The answer is 30%–50% relative humidity. Keeping your home's humidity in this range can help reduce the risk of mold growth and improve overall indoor air quality.

Water damage can be devastating, but what's often even more damaging is when it's left untreated. Moisture trapped behind walls, under flooring, or in ceilings creates the perfect environment for mold to begin growing, sometimes in as little as 24–48 hours.

Here are a few ways to help keep mold at bay:
✔️ Fix leaks as soon as you find them.
✔️ Dry wet materials quickly after a spill or water loss.
✔️ Use exhaust fans in bathrooms and kitchens.
✔️ Consider a dehumidifier if your home tends to be humid.
✔️ Monitor your indoor humidity with a simple hygrometer.

If your home has experienced water damage, don't wait. The sooner mitigation begins, the better your chances of preventing costly mold growth.

🏡 Is your home really protected?
Finding out you don't have coverage after the fact can sometimes be more devastating than the loss itself. 😢
Having the right coverages in place can make all the difference and seeking out a trusted Insurance Agent to help you with this is critical. While online quotes can be convenient, they can't replace the value of having a knowledgeable agent who understands your needs and can guide you through your options.
We hope you don't need us, but if you do, we promise to take good care of you. 💙

With the potential for severe weather later today, now is a good time to make sure you’re prepared. Keep your phones charged and alerts turned on, have flashlights and other essentials nearby, and know where your safe space is.

Most importantly, stay safe and don’t take unnecessary risks.
Once the storm has passed, if you think your home or property may have sustained damage:

• Wait until conditions are safe before going outside to inspect.
• Watch for downed power lines, broken glass, unstable trees and other hazards.
• Check for roof damage, missing shingles, damaged siding and broken windows.
• Look inside for signs of water intrusion, including ceilings, walls, basements and around windows.
• Take photos and videos of any damage you find.
• If water is entering your home, don’t wait. The sooner mitigation begins, the better chance you have of preventing additional damage.
• Contact your insurance agent or carrier if you need to report a claim.

And remember — you have the right to choose the restoration company you trust.

If the storm leaves you with water or property damage, Towne Fire and Water Damage Restoration is here when you need us.

One of my favorite pieces of equipment we use is the Hydroxyl Generator. It may not look like much, but don't let its size fool you. This machine does an incredible amount of work in a surprisingly short time.

While it's a game-changer after a fire, we also rely on it during sewage losses and other jobs where strong odors are present. Eliminating odors isn't just about making a space smell better—it's an important part of the restoration process and helping families feel comfortable in their homes again.

Having the right equipment allows us to begin tackling odor issues quickly and effectively, helping get our customers one step closer to normal.

When disaster happens, we bring the tools—and the experience—to restore more than just your property. We're here if you need us and we promise to take good care of you.

🍂 Clean gutters are a necessity when it comes to preventing unnecessary water damage to your home.

When gutters become clogged with leaves, sticks, and debris, rainwater has nowhere to go. Instead, it can overflow and find its way into your roof, siding, foundation, or basement, leading to costly water damage that could have been avoided.

A few minutes of maintenance today can save you thousands in repairs tomorrow.

✔️ Clean your gutters at least twice a year.
✔️ Make sure downspouts direct water away from your foundation.
✔️ Check for loose or sagging sections that need repair.

If water does find its way into your home, Towne Fire and Water Damage Restoration is ready to help. Since 1979, we've been restoring homes and peace of mind.

💙 We're here if you need us and we promise to take good care of you.

⚠️ A quick reminder from Towne Fire & Water Damage Restoration as there is a chance for storms later this evening:

While we provide emergency tarping, board-ups, and temporary protection for storm-damaged homes and businesses, Towne does not remove trees or large limbs from structures before performing those services.

For everyone's safety, a qualified tree removal service must first remove any trees or large limbs resting on the structure. Once the area is safe, our team can step in to secure the property and help prevent further damage.

Please continue to keep your phones on and stay alert for the latest weather updates. Stay safe, and if you experience storm damage, we're here to help as soon as it's safe to do so.

Commercial dehumidifiers are one of the most important pieces of equipment we use after water damage.

While fans help move air, it's the dehumidifiers that do the heavy lifting by pulling excess moisture out of the air. This speeds up the drying process and helps prevent secondary damage like warped wood, swollen drywall, and mold growth.

At Towne Fire and Water Damage Restoration, we don't just set equipment and hope for the best. Our technicians carefully monitor temperature, humidity, and moisture levels each day to ensure your home or business is drying properly.

When water damage strikes, having the right equipment and the right team operating it, makes all the difference.

🥵 It's HOT... no doubt about it!

When temperatures soar, your air conditioner works overtime to keep your home comfortable. But did you know your A/C can actually cause water damage?

As your system cools your home, it also removes moisture from the air. That water drains through a condensate line, and if that line becomes clogged with dirt, algae, or debris, it can back up and overflow into your home. The result? Wet ceilings, damaged drywall, soaked flooring, and even mold growth.

💧 A few simple ways to help prevent A/C water damage:
✅ Change your air filter regularly.
✅ Have your system serviced each year.
✅ Make sure the condensate drain line stays clear.
✅ If you notice water around your indoor unit, don't ignore it.

If your A/C leaves you with more than just a cool house, Towne Fire and Water Damage Restoration is here to help. We'll dry, clean, and restore your home so you can get back to enjoying the summer.

📞 We're here if you need us, and we promise to take good care of you.
