While brick is considered tough, it isn't invincible, and neither is the mortar that holds the brick construction together! While brick and mortar wont last forever, there are some common problems that are seen on aging homes that can be addressed to prolong its life. Weather damage, settling, and spalling all impact the condition of your chimney. Tuckpointing is a common repair that may need to be done to prevent further deteriorarion from these problems.
