The before photos of one of the most rewarding and memorable homes I have ever had the privilege of cleaning.
A few months ago, I got a call from a gentleman whose mother had been in the hospital. Her home had sat empty for nearly three years, and he wanted it deep cleaned so she could finally come home.
What started as “just another cleaning job” turned into something I’ll never forget.
The home itself was incredible. His father had built it for his mother many years ago, and he had grown up there. Walking through it felt like stepping into a perfectly preserved time capsule. Every room held decades of memories, family history, and treasures collected over a lifetime.
The job ended up taking four days, and during those four days he spent hours talking with me, sharing stories about his parents, his childhood, and the life that had been lived inside those walls. What started as client conversations slowly turned into genuine friendship.
By the time we finished, it no longer felt like I was cleaning a stranger’s home. It felt like I had been welcomed into a family’s story.
One of the things I love most about this business is that sometimes it becomes so much more than cleaning. Sometimes it’s helping someone through a difficult season. Sometimes it’s helping prepare a home for a loved one’s return. And sometimes, if you’re lucky, you leave with a friendship you never expected.
I went there to clean a house, but I left with a friend who has become family.
These are the jobs that remind me why I do what I do. 🤍
