Summer leaves a lot behind on a patio. Chlorine from the pool, grime, and the soil of every evening you spent out here settle into the grain and leave the whole surface looking tired.

Look at one tight crop, and you can see it. On one side, a season of buildup. On the other, the same stone after we cleaned it off, section by section, on marble, travertine, and limestone.

We work slow and close, no harsh scrubbing that the surface pays for later. This is what a careful clean looks like when Pure Light Cleaning™ handles it.

Save this for when your own patio is ready for its fall clean.

When you are ready, request an estimate, and we will walk the space with you first.

Dull cloudy marks on marble are called etches. Marble is made of calcium, so anything acidic like w**e, lemon, or the wrong cleaner eats into the surface a little. It isn't a stain sitting on top–the actual stone itself has changed, which is why your scrubbing never works.

This island was the homeowner's favorite piece in her house, and she'd gotten to where she couldn't look past the etching anymore.

Most people in that spot are told they need resurfacing, which leaves the countertop looking brand new but unprotected. It can etch again the very next day and will need routine service–even with sealing. But with MORE™ AntiEtch™ coating, we apply it once and then there's no more maintenance down the road. And if there is any damage, it's covered under the lifetime warranty.

So we removed the etches, coated it with MORE™ AntiEtch™, then restored the finish. The coating blocks acid before it reaches the marble, and you can't see or feel it.

Plenty of San Diego homeowners have scrubbed the same shower with the same drugstore cleaner and seen the same result. It usually isn't a scrubbing problem. It is a method problem.

Four things are usually happening:

1. The cleaner has the wrong pH.
2. Mineral buildup has settled into the stone wall.
3. The grout sealer has failed.
4. The glass has build up.

Each one needs a different method. That is the difference between cleaning and restoration.

If the first approach doesn't get there, we keep working the problem until the surface is as good as it realistically gets. Then we walk it with you. That is the Pure Light™ shower restoration standard.

Save this for the next time your shower does not look the way you remember it looking. When you are ready, request an estimate from the link in our bio.

"After every dinner party, the table would get stained. Whether it was a glass of w**e, or even just a cold glass of water being put on it." - Real customer testimonial

What was actually happening wasn't staining. It was etching, and this client was having their black marble dining table resurfaced again and again because of it. The repeat cost was adding up to more than the table was worth.

So we removed the damage, then protected it with MORE™ AntiEtch™, and restored it to its original high shine polish that the owner loved. On stone jobs completed October 2025 and later, the coating carries a lifetime warranty against stains and etches from MORE Surface Care, passed directly to the homeowner. If it ever fails on an approved surface, your surface is covered under warranty.

In her words: "It looks like the original table. It feels like the original table. It shines the same."

No hovering when someone pours a glass of red. Host as often as you like.

A national DIY marble-sanding wave hit Instagram this year. Martha Stewart and ProFloorSavers. Both of them showing homeowners how to take 400-grit sandpaper to an eight-thousand-dollar countertop.

The 400 grit sandpaper dulls countertops and needs to be professionally refinished.
This is what a MORE™ AntiEtch™ Certified Applicator does instead, in four photos. Assessment. Prep. Application. Finish.

Pure Light is one of only two MORE™ AntiEtch™ Certified Applicators in San Diego County. As of October 2025, coating carries a manufacturer lifetime warranty for all staining and etching.

If you have a marble countertop you have been meaning to have looked at, the full walkthrough of what a professional restoration actually costs, involves, and produces is available on our website.

What is the one thing you wish someone had told you before you took a rag to your countertop?

It looks like a stain. It isn't.

When w**e or citrus sits on polished marble, the acid reacts with the calcium in the stone and dulls the finish right where it landed. That mark is an etch, and no amount of scrubbing brings the shine back. It's a property of the stone, not something you did wrong.

This black polished marble was restored to its original finish, then protected with MORE™ AntiEtch™, a certified coating that blocks acid before it ever reaches the stone. The coating is invisible. Polished stays polished. You simply stop losing the finish you paid for.

Pure Light Cleaning™ is 1 of only 2 certified MORE™ AntiEtch™ applicators in San Diego County.

Your marble isn't fragile. It's honest. It tells you exactly what's been happening on it.

Five things we see almost every week in San Diego kitchens:

1. Red w**e and pigmented drinks (a stain, not damage, if you catch it fast)
2. Lemon, vinegar, tomato, sparkling water (etching, not staining, and a different fix)
3. The all-purpose cleaner under your sink (slow, daily etching most owners never notice)
4. A sealant that wore off years ago (a 30-second water-bead test at the sink will tell you)
5. The boxed polishing kit (almost always costs more to undo than the original problem)

The honest news: most of what looks permanent isn't. Etches, stains, and dull rings on natural marble are usually repairable with the right diamond restoration process and a fresh seal, and most are often repairable in a single visit. The main factor is the size of the area, so a large floor can take more than one visit.

If you're hosting this fall, a birthday, a housewarming, this is the week to look at your counters in real light and decide whether they're ready.

Save this for the next time you reach for the wrong spray. Tag the friend who just put marble in their kitchen.
