You can see in the second photo that I took literally EVERYTHING out of the space before putting things back. Starting with a clean slate is important.

Sometimes it makes sense for one item to be separate from the others but more often than not, like items should be together!

Can coozies should be with can coozies and pens should be with pens (this is a common example of a time where you may have a like item elsewhere).

If all of your “like items” don’t fit in a single place, can you rearrange the room/space to put them together?

From random boxes with who-knows-what in them to dedicated shelving for each category. Right shelving is all kitchen stuff, center is clothing, behind the white curtain is another shelf that has all their camping gear and various fluids.

Now when it’s time to bring clothes inside, they’ll know right where to find them.

For a more organized space, make sure everything has a place! Often, items gather on the counter or on a chair in the corner because we are mentally e x h a u s t e d and don’t want to process where to put it.

Lessen the mental load and create “homes” for as many items as possible!

Make a home for one item this week - the kids bags, your purse, your keys, etc. and see what a difference it makes!
