Wanted: Bike Helmet for a beautiful customer, please.

She did the hard part 💛

When she first connected with us at CBI PNC, she was unemployed and actively job searching. Now? She’s working—and even saved up for an electric scooter to get herself to and from work.

Next step: safety.

She doesn’t have a helmet yet, but she wants one. We’re looking for a gently used (or new) bike helmet—likely size large, women’s fit if possible.

Do you have one sitting in your closet?
Would you be willing to pass it along?

If we receive more than one, we’ll make sure the extras go to others who need them, too. 🖤

Message us or drop off with one of our team members at Social Spin Mesa:
1255E. Southern Ave., Ste. 1
Mesa, AZ 85204
8 am - 6:30 pm, every day of the week

Let’s protect this momentum—and her head.

We paid it off 💚

Three years ago, we took on our largest Kiva loan—$25K. Yesterday, we made the final payment.

But what matters most is what it became:
🧺 53 jobs
🧺 5 shelters served weekly
🧺 771 loads in one week

Christy Johnson Moore wrote a personal reflection on what we built and what’s next.

Since starting Social Spin, I’ve said yes to community capital through Kiva three different times. Three years ago, we took on our largest loan—$25,000—and yesterday, we paid it off.

Does harm reduction actually help people - or destroy lives?

It’s an important question and one worth talking about.

The goal of harm reduction is simple: keep people alive, reduce risk and create opportunities for recovery.

These approaches are backed by evidence and have been shown to:
• Reduce overdose deaths
• Prevent the spread of disease
• Connect individuals to treatment and support

This work isn’t about giving up on people, rather, it’s about giving them a chance to move forward.

How are harm reduction services so available here?

The answer comes down to partnership, collaboration, and community support.

Organizations, healthcare providers, and local partners work together to make these services accessible, meeting people where they are and connecting them to care.

This approach helps:
• Improve public health outcomes
• Reduce strain on emergency services
• Create pathways to recovery and stability

When communities collaborate, real solutions happen.
