Before hiring a "Sanitizing Service", make sure you ask for proof that they are OSHA® HAZWOPER-Certified.

Most people would never know to ask this.

SANITIZING SERVICE PSA #4:
If a "sanitizing business" does not provide you with proof that they are OSHA® HAZWOPER-Certified to perform proper sanitizing and disinfecting services, do not hire them.

Too many short-lived "sanitizing businesses" are popping up just to make a quick buck, capitalize on an awful situation, and fold when it's all done. We saw the same thing happen after Super Storm Sandy. It takes a large investment of time and money to get HAZWOPER-Certified, which is something no short-lived business will bother to do.

SANITIZING SERVICE PSA #3:
If you see "sanitizing workers" not wearing respirators while doing a job, do not hire them.

1. Everyone should be behaving as though they have COVID-19 - especially those claiming to be disinfecting for COVID-19. If a sanitizing worker has COVID-19 while they are "sanitizing", they are just re-infecting the spaces they are supposedly disinfecting.

2. While the products we use are "Green", they will make you very sick. So, if a sanitizing worker is not wearing a respirator, they are: not using the proper products, going to get very sick, not trained and certified to do the work.

If a "sanitizing business" says you don't have to leave while they sanitize and disinfect your home or business, do not hire them. There's a good reason why we wear full hazmat suits and respirators. While the products we use are "Green", they will definitely make you very sick. Again, read the Product Safety Data Sheets.

SANITIZING SERVICE PSA #1:
If a "sanitizing business" claims its products will keep your space free of COVID-19 — even after being re-exposed to COVID-19 — do not hire them. Read the Product Safety Data Sheets that they are supposed to provide you with. The products we use do kill existing viruses and help make your space safe - but if your space is re-exposed, you will need to re-sanitize.
