How do Toxic Pesticides Harm our Environment?
Pesticides released into the environment can have various effects depending on the type of pesticide and the environment in which it is released. In general, pesticides can persist in the environment for varying periods of time and can be transported by air, water, or soil.
They can also be taken up by plants and animals and can accumulate in the tissues of living organisms. Some pesticides can have harmful effects on non-target organisms, including wildlife, and can also contaminate soil and water.
Additionally, pesticides can break down into other chemicals, called degradation products, which can also be harmful.
