It’s never to late to schedule your pool closing! There are 3 different types of pool covers: mesh, tarp, and solid. Mesh and solid covers are both safety covers that are custom made and anchored into the decking. Mesh allows water to seep through the cover, but the solid does not. The tarp cover is not custom made and uses water bags to keep it secured down. Tarps do not allow water to seep through, similar to solid covers.

There are 5 main components of a vinyl liner pool: wall panels, pool base, vinyl liner, steps, and coping. Wall panels make up the walls of the pool and are most commonly used with steel aluminum or polymer. The pool base mixture is typically made of vermiculite/ grout and is applied on top of the soil, smoothed, and then the liner is placed. The liner is of course made of vinyl and typically has a thickness of 20, 27, or 28 mils thick (1/1000 of an inch). The three most common steps are white plastic, vinyl over, and a ladder. The white plastic is polymer that are attached to the pool walls. The vinyl over is part of the liner that is premise to fit for the steps. The ladder is a basic metal ladder that is installed to hang over edge of pool. The coping is the border you see around the perimeter of the pool. The most common that is used is white aluminum C-channel coping. If interested, call or go online for a free quote from Hawaiian Pools. Link in bio!!🌴🌺

Alkalinity and pH are the best friends in the pool. They go hand in hand! If you lower your pH, you alkalinity level will recede. If you add alkalinity, your pH level will rise. pH tells you whether the water is acidic, neutral, or basic. A healthy pH is within the range of 7.2-7.6. Alkalinity is the buffering capacity, or in other words, the resist of change in pH. Keeping the alkalinity between 80-120 is best for range. Make sure to use pool grade alkalinity! Non pool grade alkalinity contains a crazy amount of phosphates!! Moving onto pH down products. Muriatic acid is a liquid pH down that is used in plaster pools. pH down is a granular and is used in vinyl liner pools. (1Ib of pH down for everything 10,000 gallons. 1Ib of pH down=1/4 gallon of muriatic acid.)
