🌈 URGENT IN MD – 28 DOGS AT RISK
⏰ Must leave by Tuesday, March 17 at 6 PM
🍀 We need a lot of St. Patrick’s Day magic this week. This is the biggest urgent list of 2026, and we are coming off this year’s biggest loss of dogs. The perfect storm.
This week, 28 dogs at the Prince George’s County Animal Services Facility are hoping for a little luck of the Irish.
A foster.
An adopter.
A rescue saying yes.
Sometimes that’s the luck these dogs need. 🍀
✨ 3 dogs are already spayed or neutered, which means they may be able to go home more quickly with an approved application.
🐾 Two rescue groups have already stepped up saying they will pull dogs — but fosters and adopters need to apply NOW. Waiting until the last day makes it much harder for rescues to help.
The pace right now is relentless. The shelter remains severely overcrowded, rescues everywhere are stretched thin, and another group of dogs now needs a miracle.
If you’ve been thinking about helping — now is the time.

🚨URGENT in MD!! Another 20 Dogs. 7 Days. One Deadline. 🚨

⏰ Must leave by Tuesday, February 24 at 6 PM

We’re coming off some very close calls on the last list — the kind that had everyone holding their breath until the final hour.

Now we have another 20 dogs with one week left. Yes, the shelter is severely overcrowded.

Here’s the tricky part:
The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. Waiting until Tuesday to see if someone else steps up creates a whole lot of chaos — and very little time to act thoughtfully.

If you’ve been thinking about fostering, adopting, pledging, or sharing… this is the week to move. Fill out a foster app now! Whether through the shelter or a rescue, they need time to process apps…and most of all they need you!

💜 Pittie Pilot Program — The Door Is Open 💜
With breed-specific legislation now changed in Prince George’s County, residents can adopt any breed — including pit bull–type dogs.
There are a few additional requirements (training course, spay/neuter, microchip, permit), but families can finally choose the dog that fits their lifestyle — without breed restrictions.
The opportunity is here.
Now these 20 dogs need action.
