Laundry Tyme in Douglas is open again! After several months of reconstruction from the fire in December - we passed the final building inspection & have our Certificate of Occupancy. This means we can have customers back in to do their laundry. Effective immediately we will resume normal business hours & remain open 24x7x365.

We look forward to having people back in the building and hope everyone enjoys the updates that came about during construction:
- The new HVAC systems are keeping the facility comfortably cool
- The new vending machines work great & accept credit cards
- The new plumbing is getting hotter water to the washers faster and our Culligan water treatment system now provides exceptionally clean water through out the building.

Please note that our laundry service has been & remains open from 8am to 6pm seven days a week. A huge THANK YOU to our crew in Douglas who kept the service operational during reconstruction often with out heat, water or electricity to the building! The best place to drop off & pickup orders now is at the double doors in between the east & west entrances. There is more space there & that makes it easier to load & unload laundry.

Zoom Express Laundry in Douglas.is open today from 8am to 3pm. We are closing a little early to let our staff enjoy time with family & friends to celebrate Easter. We will reopen Monday morning
and resume normal hours from 8am - 6pm.

Quick Update On The Laundry Tyme Laundromat In Douglas

After the fire we had back on December 11th - the reconstruction effort is finally underway! The project is moving ahead quickly & its on track to be complete by May 7th. There are some inspections that have to take place after construction is complete, but the laundromat should be open again by mid May.

Please note that our Laundry Service has been & remains open for business daily from 8am to 6pm. We are just checking people in & out from the door toward the east end of the building by the Crux Art tattoo studio. Feel free to pull right up to the east door to load & unload laundry.

The self service laundry remains closed until reconstruction & inspections are complete. However, we are offering a $10 discount to any new customers who want to try our Wash, Dry & Fold service. Plus there are multiple discounts available for returning customers - just ask our attendants about them when dropping off laundry or use one of these codes if you are scheduling a pickup online:

Update From Laundry Tyme In Douglas

Please accept our apology for not posting an update sooner. There has been a lot of work going on to get the laundromat open again ASAP. Construction is now underway now and its on track to be complete by May 7th. Some inspections need to take place after construction is complete, but we should be fully operational again in early to mid May.

Our Full Service Laundry has been & remains open for business. We are just checking people in & out from the door on the east side of the building next to the Crux Art tattoo studio. Laundry can be dropped off & picked up anytime between 8am to 6pm every day of the week. Plus we are offering a $10 discount for new customers & a 10% off discount for all returning customers.

The self service laundromat has to remain closed until the final inspections are complete. We will post an update as soon as we get a better idea of when this will take place. In the mean time, please note that there will be a lot of construction activity around the laundromat. So feel free to pull up right next to the east door to load & unload.

We’d like to take a moment to introduce ourselves — Brian and Anne Gowan, owners of Zoom Express Laundry in Douglas.

As many of you already know, a gas leak caused an explosion at our Douglas location on December 10th at approximately 4:30 a.m. Two customers were inside at the time. They smelled gas and were walking out the door when the explosion occurred. We are so incredibly grateful they made it out safely. Both were evaluated by EMTs, and there were no injuries.

The explosion originated in the utility room on the full-service side. The Douglas Fire Department, Police Department, and all emergency personnel responded almost immediately. Their quick action and professionalism helped contain the situation, and we are deeply thankful for their service.

Today, we have begun the process of cleanup and assessing the extent of the damage. The vast majority of laundry and dry-cleaning items are intact, aside from smoke exposure. Everything will be rewashed, repackaged, and available for pickup on Monday. If you need your items sooner, please call Brian or stop by the laundromat — we’re happy to help however we can.

We are currently working on the self-service side of the mat, and we hope to have full-service operations back up within the next day or so. The self-service area will remain closed for about a week while cleanup continues.

Many of you may have already heard, but we wanted to share an important update. Early this morning around 4:30 AM, our Douglas location of Zoom Express Laundry experienced a fire caused by a gas leak. The Douglas Fire Department responded immediately, quickly extinguished the fire, and safely shut off the gas and electricity. We are incredibly grateful to report that no one was hurt.

We are working closely with the fire department and our building manager to ensure the safety of everyone and to help our neighbors in the Weather Vane Mall get back up and running as soon as possible.

Our Douglas location will remain closed today. Once the fire crew and insurance adjusters finish their assessments, we will be allowed inside to evaluate the damage.

We will share another update later today as soon as we have more information. Thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding.

The good news? Power crews are on it, and we expect to be up and running again by mid-afternoon today.

Laundry Tyme & the Zoom Express Laundry service in Douglas will be open on Labor Day. The laundromat is & will remain open 24 hours a day every day. The laundry service will be open from 8am to 3pm.

Please note that on Labor Day:
- We will be accepting & processing Wash, Dry & Fold jobs.
- We will be running our regular pickup & delivery routes.
