Gary has been on quarterly service since 2023. Here's what he shared:

"Prior to this, we had a spider's nest in the fireplace and ongoing occurrences of various insects inside our home. The fireplace needed servicing but, thanks to Ryan, those days are now gone."

That's the result of showing up every quarter and doing the work.

Thank you, Gary. Three years in and counting.

Your pet gets treated. A week later, the fleas are back.

The pet treatment is doing its job. The problem is what it can't reach: the eggs, larvae, and pupae living in your carpet, rugs, and bedding. Only a small fraction of a flea problem is ever on the pet at any given moment. The large majority is in the home, working through the lifecycle at its own pace.

That's the gap our Flea Subscription is built to close. Treatments every two weeks, timed to interrupt the lifecycle before the next generation of adults can emerge and restart the cycle.

If fleas keep coming back no matter what you do for your pet, the home environment is what needs attention.

Before you leave for vacation, take five minutes in the kitchen. Empty the trash, clear the sink, and put any fruit in the fridge. An empty, quiet house with food sitting out is an open invitation. Pests don't need much, and they have all week.

When you get to the hotel, put your bags on the luggage rack right away. Bed bugs hitch rides in luggage left on the floor or bed. Take 30 seconds to check the mattress seams for rusty spots or small shed skins. That's what you're looking for.

Coming home to a pest problem is a rough end to a good trip.

Most people hear "eco-friendly pest control" and assume it means no chemicals at all. That's not what it means.

Eco-conscious pest control starts with what's in the tank: reduced-risk products chosen because they're safer for the people and pets in your home. The other half is where and how they're applied. A reduced-risk product placed precisely in the areas where pests travel and nest has a much smaller footprint than a broad spray across every surface you can reach.

It also means starting with what's attracting pests and what conditions let them establish, before any product is used. Safe products, careful application, prevention first. All three are what make it the more careful choice.

You spot a grey papery ball hanging from a branch. Your first instinct is to knock it down.

Don't.

That's a bald-faced hornet nest, and by late July it holds several hundred defenders. Unlike a honey bee, a bald-faced hornet has a smooth stinger. It doesn't come out after the first sting. One hornet can hit you multiple times, and a disturbed colony won't just swarm the nest. They'll follow you across the yard.

A hardware-store can of spray or a broom pole doesn't neutralize several hundred hornets. It provokes them. That's the difference between a close call and an emergency.

Your job is to keep the yard clear and let a pro handle it.

Carissa put it simply: "He's takes great care around our animals to ensure they are safe when he enters and exits our buildings!"

Pets are family. Our technicians treat them that way on every visit.

Thank you for sharing that, Carissa. It's the kind of care we want every customer to count on.

If you have animals at home and have been hesitant to call, give us a ring and we'll talk through what a visit looks like.

After a trail walk or yard work, ticks don't just land anywhere. They move toward warm, tight spots: the hairline, behind the ears, the waistband, behind the knees, and the sock line. Those are the five places most people skip when they do a quick look-over.

A full check takes two minutes. Shower within two hours if you can. It rinses off unattached ticks and gives you a reason to do a thorough check from head to toe. Check your pets too before they come inside.

The check is the habit that matters most. Our yard treatment reduces tick pressure around your home so there is less to find in the first place.

You treated the dog. You vacuumed. You washed the bedding. And for a few days, things seemed better.

Then the fleas came back.

Here's why: only a small fraction of a flea problem lives on your pet at any given time. The large majority is in your carpet, rugs, and pet bedding as eggs, larvae, and pupae, completely untouched by what you put on the animal.

That hidden population hatches on its own schedule. The pupa stage is especially stubborn. The cocoon resists many treatments and the flea inside can wait weeks before emerging. That's the two-week comeback most people experience.

Getting fleas under control means treating the home repeatedly, timed to the life cycle, not just the pet.

A wasp nest in spring starts small. Golf-ball size. A single queen, a handful of workers, easy to miss on a quick glance at the eaves.

By mid-summer, that same nest is a different story. The colony has been building all season, and the wasps defending it are far more aggressive than they were two months ago.

A 60-second walk around your eaves, deck, and shed right now takes almost nothing. Finding it in August, when the nest is at full size and the colony is on high alert, takes a lot more.

If you spot something, don't try to remove it yourself. Let someone handle it safely.

That enormous wasp dive-bombing your face in the yard? The one hovering inches from your nose, circling back, making you back up fast?

It cannot sting you. It has no stinger.

Male cicada killers are the aggressive ones you notice. They patrol territory, bluff hard, and look absolutely terrifying doing it. But they're running a bluff with nothing to back it up.

Female cicada killers can sting. But females are focused on hunting cicadas, not people. She'll only use her stinger if someone grabs her or pins her against skin.

The one making the dramatic show is the one that can't hurt you. Worth knowing before you react to the wrong one.
